FS/FT Announcements / [H]ot Deals 2010

Are there any hot deals for BR media players that support 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound? Most of the Power DVD crap that comes w/ BR readers or burners are the crippleware version that only supports stereo sound. The "premium" version costs some $100. TIA

The next time a hot deal is posted, I can ask a mod to change the title to 2011. At least it no longer refers to 2006.

FS: Internal ATi Digital Cable Tuner - $150
I have an internal ATi DCT that I am not using and need to get rid of.

For those not in the know, the DCT allows you to get a CableCard from your cable company so that you can view digital, protected content in windows media center (like HBO, Showtime... No PPV).

The card is installed internally in a pcie 1x slot, but is powered off an Internal floppy power connector and requires hookup to USB.

And for those looking for a tablet remote solution you can root a Nook Color easy. :)

Card was used for three months before upgrading my HTPC.
It has a lot of power to run post processing if you like to clean up your image or use vector adaptive deinterlacing.
My HTPC idle'd at 60watts using the card & 50watts using the IGP.
Also, it is silent. I know it uses a fan but I could never hear it in my quiet room.

25ft v1.4 HDMI cable, $8.93 shipped via Ebay "Buy It Now" from a US seller.

Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270822477276 (i have no affiliation with this seller)

The description claims it's 26awg but i can't verify it because it doesn't say so on the cable. Works great running a picture to my 1080P plasma with no audio/video anomalies, looks like it has decently rugged connectors too. At 25ft you have to be a little wary as to what HDMI cable you buy, the cheapest ones aren't always made correctly and will produce sparklies or the connectors will twist off.

Edit: Here's the rest of his HDMI cables: http://www.ebay.com/sch/jlawre19/m.html?_trksid=p4340.l2562

Good to see this thread back alive!
I've been slacking, but not anymore! :)

SSDs are starting to get cheap. I've even seen 240 GB for under $200. That would also be overkill for an HTPC, but maybe for someone who doesn't record a lot of shows or maybe periodically copies desired shows to an external HDD, those options could also be worthwhile.
