Didn't know where else to ask this question, but is anyone else using Avast anti-virus? Every time I click on a topic and it takes me to the page on HardForum, avast pops up with a message about a Trajon Horse virus. I've got it installed on 2 different PCs and I have this happen on both of them when I'm on HardForum.

Last week there were attacks on [H] with a trojan through Java, things seem to have been fixed by the end of last week though.

Have you tried clearing cache and whatnot? That could be where the problem is coming from....old/cached files.

Avast is traditionally a POS for me. Get MSE, don't look back.

That said, we were hacked daily LAST WEEK.

We just got hit again for the first time this week. Code is now removed. If you are getting a warning now, it is a false positive.

Using Chrome and MSE and I have not had an issue yet. Either Chrome caught it or MSE caught it. Today, no message, both ignored the code, no infection.

I've been debating installing MSE but last time I did it royally screwed my computer and I had to system restore to get the computer back in working order.

I've been wary of installing it since

It happened to me today while on my main PC. That may be the first time I've been to HardForum on it in a long time since I do most of my web surfing on my laptop. I'm on my laptop right now and no avast warnings occurred.

MSE went from Beta to an actually product recently...

I would suggest to everyone that you run Malwarebytes too.

A friend had Alvira sending them warnings about Hardforums last week as well. Avast gave me no issues. Maybe I'll check out MSE.

It's not that Avast is raising it as a false positive, it's that Avast has a built in web filter. MSE and other similar products will let the trorjan/java ap fully download before notifiying you. Avast prompts you as it's coming through the pipe.

I personally would rather it be blocked before it gets to my hard drive but to each their own.

That changed when MSE updated, it warns before the file write is committed, not after. Also, I've only had issues with the HardForum when using Firefox. Haven't had problems when browsing with IE8.

My Untangle box hasn't been filtering it out which has me more concerned, but aparently the referenced link is being blocked in IE8. I'd rather it be blocked before its even on my internal network wires. :)
