Newegg And Sandybridge

Yeah like 90% of the Newegg review, they should allow only people who bought the products to review it..

They have "Verified Buyer" for Newegg buyers. Those are the only reviews I ever pay attention to.

What?!? You mean you're not supposed to eat the thermal paste? I always thought it was a nice little tasty bonus the mobo manufacturers put in there for us nerds. That explains a lot. *insert joke about the thermal conductivity of my heat pipe*

I'm anxiously awaiting for this stuff on the egg as well. Everyone seems to indicate they'll have plenty of stock, so i'm hoping that won't be an issue. Also hope the prices aren't those post-ipo prices we've not been enjoying, otherwise i'll have waited for naught.

This seems a little odd to me since the chip was what was under nda not the boards. Guess it doesn't reallý matter though.

Anyone know if microcenter will have the ud4 and asus PRO on the 9th?

Newegg is going to get pounded on the 9th. I don't understand why they are not selling boards yet, though. Oh well, more money for SuperBiiz.

i guess newegg is thinking no sense selling the boards if you cant get the chip until the 9th or so anyways. <shrug>

Did not know Gigabyte was doing an NDA until the 9th, thanks for this.
I purchased a UD5 board a week ago and was starting to wonder where all the hype was about my board.

I need my purchasing decision validated Gigabyte why must you make me wait!

I was also wondering about this. I want to know why I should go Gigabyte and not MSI or Asus. Or course I'm going lower end for a board around UD3 or so.

here's a Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4 review
and here's a review (good read) comparing the Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4, Intel DP67BG, MSI P67A-GD65, and ASUS P8P67 PRO

Gigabytes NDA lifts on the 9 th. That is when my review goes up.

Interesting, Tech Report posted a four board comparison review yesterday that included the Gigabyte, Asus, MSI, and Intel boards. You'd think they'd want the motherboard NDA to lift earlier, so people have time to figure out what they want before release date.

IMO the ASUS P8P67 ( non PRO) offers the best value currently.

However I went with the Gigabte UD4

some sites are giving some GC with purchases of first customers including buy.com

I hope Newegg has some nice combo's (mobo+Ram) on Sun, there are a lot of people building new systems.

WTF A CPU with Intergrated GRAPHICS?????

How in the HELL is that possible???

If you had kept up with any of the several threads about this, you'd know that it's possible through magic. Not surprisingly, the integrated graphics will not work under the light of a full moon, in the presense of a pureblooded virgin Norse, or during an eclipse.

Dude, I've only been reading up on Graphics cards...I own a 580 finally from a 8800 gtx...and still run a Q6600...didn't have plans or interest in a new CPU.

Sandy Bridge sounds cool, but I never read about graphics through a cpu. I did read about laptops always havin ded/intel with the new sandy...but didn't understand why. (Not saying all laptops will have ded..but it being possible with the new cpu's.)

or with a P67 chipset.

Those who insist on having all this within a week of launch will get gouged. The sellers know who you are!
The rest of us will wait patiently for a week or two and then pay normal pricing and have the benefit of extended product reviews and recommendations.

IMO!

there's a flip side to that coin - some of us started piecing together out builds fairly early so we were able to capitalize on leftover holiday sales. i saved $30 on my psu, for example (not to say that a bigger/better deal won't come down the pike).

in my case, the only thing i could possibly get 'gouged' on is the CPU. meh...if i have to pay an extra $20 to play with my new toy a week early so be it. i'm an impatient bastard :D

Hear, hear. I've been mousing components together for close to a month now.

+1 here - I bought every part between thanksgiving and now at tremendous deals. The only pieces left are the CPU and MB which Newegg hopefully only charges list price on.

Sure about that?

I've already waited 3 years and 5 months. ;) Also, how did the patient ones do with things like the HD 5850. Oops.

Yeah, it seems like lately that Newegg has been charging list until they sell out, then they jack up the prices on the restock. So early adopters sometimes come out ahead. That being said, there are going to be plenty of places selling these (some are already showing up on Google shopping) so it shouldn't be an issue.

Much like the 5850's as stated above, I'm hoping they have these for list at launch or I'll have to detour to MC on my way to the airport. If the difference is more than $40 I'll make the stop.

Same here. Only downside is that I've had the components sitting in my living room staring at me for the last 2 months. Pretty sure my power supply whispers to me in the middle of the night.
