Useless floppy connector replaced by a more useless "ammo magazine"-like heatsink... :D

Looks alright, kinda reminds me of EVGA's and XFX's 780/790i boards. Anyway, what was the point of releasing this anyway, X58 is old and since Sandy Bridge has been out nobody cares anymore right? And also, I'm disappointed that Gigabyte only added one LAN port and 8 SATA ports, on the UD5, UD7, UD9 and Extreme you had dual LAN and 10 SATA ports.

Would have been better if Gigabyte designed this for P67 instead, but who knows, maybe they might?

Ya seriously, whose gonna buy that stuff now.....?? The assassin board looks nice and I believe they actually put a real x-fi chip + 128mb of memory with head phone amps on the board. Would love to finally get rid of a expansion sound card since it causes my watercooling tube routing to be kinda funky.

There is plenty of room for 3 x double sized video cards. Not sure what you're looking at.

Are these the first mobos with integrated Bigfoot Killer NICs?

wow....guerilla, assassin, sniper????

WTF is going on @ Gigabyte

Catering to modern FPS themes. :p

I want a motherboard that caters to RPGs. It should be colored blue or red with heatsinks in the shape of swords and wands.

Ok, maybe not.

they shouldve put all these features on a "black ops line" of p67 boards.
i would buy.

love the bullet magazine heatsink

That's ok if you're assuming everybody is going to use 3-way SLI...
In my case i prefer to have a better sound card like the Auzentech X-Meridian 7.1 2G or X-Meridian instead of a Sound Blaster, and of course some space between video cards for air flow (a MUST have today), this is something the Classified provides (and few others too), and it's also 3-way SLI capable. That's the best mobo layout IMHO for those reasons (for me anyway).

Putting together PCIe for a x16 x16 (Rampage II Extreme or Rampage III Extreme) is the dummest idea ever.

Ah ha ha! That ammo magazine is classic! I'd buy that simply because it looks ridiculous (not to actually use mind you).

Also, what's with all the violence? Assassin, Guerilla, Sniper, Facemurderer, etc. Can't we have something nice like...fluffy carebears and kittens.

The only other problem I see is that with the X-Fi built in...it's more of a hindrance than a selling point, but hey I guess you can at least still disable it. Knowing their drivers I definitely wouldn't want that thing permanently attached to my motherboard (Sorry i'm a bitter creative user). I'm also not a fan of the bigfoot nic either, and last I remember looking into it not much has changed in its utilitarian department.

Overall I think it's just too much, and they're trying too hard...but I still give them credit for some attempt at innovation. Thanks for the info OP!

Yes, it's on the printed thingy-description (i don't know how to call that, sorry) besides the mobos, also, you can see clearly the "Killer 2100" chip next to the audio ports on each pic.:D

The names are inspired on what you're going to feel with X-Fi drivers...Maybe they should named the line Facepalm...:D

The boards look great. Although, as others have said, they seem to be going for more form over function. The magazine shaped south bridge heatsink is cool and original, but you would never see it once you install a couple graphics cards. Also, I like the integrated Creative sound chip, but the Bigfoot NIC would have to go. An Intel NIC would have been a better choice. Nice try Gigabyte!

Maybe I'm just a grumpy old OCer, (and by maybe I mean I am) but I think that heatsink=trying to hard.

I have a x58.. I would buy one, but what is with the southbridge cooler ...WTF?

wonder how it OCs?

when and where can I buy?

I like the integrated Killer NIC. I think that is actually a nice feature, since that chip really is supposed to offer faster pings, but I probably wouldn't spend the money and waste the expansion slot otherwise.

Oh, I saw the sign--that's what led me to ask. I was wondering if Gigabyte had any current mobos w/integrated Killers, or if another vendor did.

Can't wait to see some fuckers try to carry those on the plane on the way back.

For the record, that is crazy ass Chinese marketing at its worst.

Why an X58 Board? Don't why bother with the technologies coming out/out this year.

That bullet/magazine thing is way fucked up.

The overall idea of snipers and such is dopey.

Gigabyte should just do what they do best......go back to the gay clown color schemes and good overclocking motherboards.

Forcing me to spend extra for the "Killer" network card makes me want to NOT buy any such board. Just put a good Intel Gigabit chip on it, k thx.

All valid and importants arguments/opinions here, but the most important question is...will it blend???:D

That is sexy. I am a sucker for Green/Black used together in a color scheme

You must love my setup then

My 1st thought was that green/black would look great in my case  but then I saw that southbridge... but then I was like well maybe they will make an after market watercooling solution for that board :D

Nice paintjob on that case. But the "green" on this board looks a bit more toward the "lime green", and your case interior is more "aqua green" (of course it could just be the lighting on those pics).

I love the marketing sign. "5 sets Smart Fans strategically eliminate the thermal" Death to Thermal !

That is one of the most tasteless and ugly things I have ever seen, and I have seen Tt cases.

The color scheme is better. Thank god they are going away from the baby blue and white. However, the bullet magazine heatsink is horrendous.

Apparently their biggest complaint was that their boards lacked machismo, and now their marketing department went so far the other direction they went past machismo and became full on tacky. As it stands, these bullet magazine style heatsinks only appeal to 12 year olds or people that like to slap brand stickers all over their computers and cars as proof that they run the cool products and to boost their wavering self-esteem.

I'm surprised they didn't go camo/sabertooth paint job for this, might make a little more sense for the marketing. Throw in Black Ops or BC2 and I'm sure they would sell like hotcakes to the right customers. Oh yeah, & P67 duhh

Ya those pictures really don't do it... I hate my camera but I don't have money to buy a new one, I spend it all on my PC :D

But you are correct the colors don't match 100% but the general idea is still there
