I currently have a G5 which is dropping out intermittently. I can get it replaced but i'll have no mouse for the duration. I am thinking about trying something else, maybe a steelseries, or ? whatever I get, it needs to be corded. Too many issues with wireless in general in my house. thanks!

I also use a G5 :D. The G500 is also a good upgrade (my mom loves hers on her ratpadz). The mx-518 is kind of a downgrade from the G5.

Many of my friends enjoy Razor Death Adder mice, but I am not a fan of razor..

When my G5 started cutting out intermittently (much like yours) a couple months ago, I replaced it with a G500. Love it. They basically addressed all the bad things about the G5 while leaving everything that was great about it. So if you liked your G5, I'd go with the G500.

A4-TECH X-750BF 2500DPi

Smooth as silk and very comfortable. Been using it for 2years now without a single issue/complaint :).

Logitech G7

the sidewinder X8 is nice has a better laser and features but the build quality is lacking,

+1 G500 all the way. Had the G5 and it started to go and the G500 came out at the same time. Never looking back.

Been gaming with these for years...

I switch between a G500 and an Alienware TactX depending on the situation.

G5 2 button.

Am I the only one that hates Logitech's infiniscroll wheel? On click mode the indentations are not nearly solid enough for things like weapon select.

+1 for the Razer Death Adder.

I don't know how much truth there is to this but I read on another forum that if your palm touches the mouse when you game, go Logitech. If you use your fingers only (more of a hover) then go with a Razer. I'm a fingers only type mouse user and the Death Adder feels perfect for me and is far and away the fastest, smoothest mouse I have ever used. (Used Intellimouse and Logitech MX620 before this one)

G9X, best mouse I've ever owned. Blows all those twin eye sensor mice away tracking wise, imo.

I use the Razer deathadder 1800dpi, I'm looking for a new mouse just haven't decided which route I'm going to take. Whether I just get the 3500dpi Deathadder or the G700.

Getting a Deathadder 3500 would be a sidestep unless you really need the extra DPI.

G9 here. Got it at Best Buy outlet for $35 back when everyone else still wanted $60+. Before that, I had an HP Voodoo laser mouse. Another company puts out the same model but wants $30 more for it. I paid $30 for the HP and would NEVER pay $60. It tracked well but it was so light and felt...cheap. Before that I was using MX Revolution.

how does the G9 feel compared to the MX revo? the sidewinder x8 left something to be desired in the build quality

g9x, wide grip. Lovin it.

definitely took some getting used to, and feels different than a more humped mouse like an mx revolution that stretches to the heel of your palm (where the g9 sits just in the crook) but i quite enjoy it for gaming.

MS Sidewinder X5 is a fine mouse for the money.

My MX Revolution is damn nice in gaming for being an 800dpi bluetooth mouse. Tweak it right and it's fantastic.

Roccat Kone+ , absolutely love this thing. Best gaming mouse i've ever had, and i've had my fair share.

Expensive though, only downside.

6000dpi is overkill, but the surface tracking features are great. You can use this on anything, I calibrated it to my Cat's back and it worked. LoL

LOL.

I just picked up a XAI today to replace my G9X, the G9X Right Mouse Button was getting stuck, intermittently. XAI is pretty nice, I hadn't noticed how bad the feet had gotten on my G9X, as I use a rough mouse pad. So most the difference was probably just newer feet, I'll have to remember to replace those once in a while. Anyway, I joined a game of BC2, and rocked em, until a couple of aim botters showed up. :/ Played counter strike: source and was doing pretty good, 14/3 on the first map. I'd say it's a keeper. Tracking is smooth (same sensor as g9x, so to be expected), software is ok. Two software problems, it apparently only let me choose from 3 macros to assign buttons to, probably just a bug, just so happens I only need 3 macros. Second was I assign the foward left side button to "d" and assign "d" to microphone input in CS:S, it appears not to repeat, so if you hold down the button, you only get one "d" so the microphone does not stay open as you hold the button down, have to look and see if there is a solution for that. But other than those two things, it's pretty good. The lift off distance is really low (compared to most mice), which makes me really happy. The bad side? The price. $97 including tax, so, not for everyone.

Yeah, the scroll wheel on the G5 was a bit too sensitive. Could cause you to unintentionally switch weapons during a game if you were too rough with it. It's fixed in the G500 though. No problem whatsoever. Plenty of space between clicks, and locks in solid.

when it comes to gaming mice you have 3 choices

1. mx518
2. IE 3.0
3. Deathadder

and possibly the steelseries ikari optical

pick one
