Steam Sale Live now!

Got Lara Croft for some co-op fun. L4D2 is a great deal for anyone who doesn't have it yet.

The indie pack is also a great deal.

One day after I buy L4D2 for $20, it drops to $5... and I havnt gotten to play it till today anyway... god damn :(

Avoid Wings of Prey like the plague, bad console style arcade game with enough flight sim elements to piss off arcade gamers but not enough to remotely satisfy sim fans, awful awful DRM, and bad online play through an external 3rd party. It's bad. Truly bad.

Ok,, I've only sunk in the preliminary minutes to Galcon Fusion, but my interest at least is peaked. Looks like a game with some real play time potential. I'd continue, but I have some Machinarium to finish from yesterday's sale.

This post inspired me to invest the $2.50.
Fun game for about 10 minutes, I can't see myself getting more involved.

I wish the maps were bigger, though.

I might bid on left 4 dead 2 but im not sure. I found the first one very repetitive & it got boring ot me very fast. How is the 2nd left for dead?

What were you playing? Campaign only? Cause Verses is where its at. L4D2 is a better game in my opinion. Been playing a lot of 10 vs 10 lately, frickin blast, total chaos!

I'm getting the NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits 10 pack. I'd like to get 7 more members to chip in if possible (have 2 already). It'd be $1.50 per person (I'd request that you'd use paypal gift).

Also, I need 5 people for CS:S. Anybody in?

Don't look now, but only an hour into the sale, and COD4's already broken into the top sellers tab on Steam. The only other game in the current sale that's already made the list is L4D2 @ $5.

Yup, even at $15, and even after three years, it's a big seller.

Those motherfuckers, 3yrs and $15 is the cheapest its ever been, I WILL NOT pay more than $10 for it, World at War, MW2 and the rest of them since their so damn short and I don't really give much of a shit about the multiplayer, got BF2 and hopefully BF3 (if they don't fuck it up) for that. I've waited this long, guess I'll wait some more, the greedy bastards.

Well you have one right here. Just let me know.

I got myself a key from a different set of forums for NYXQuest. they were selling each key for 1.50 for 1.50 its an ok game boring in my opinion

Well, if its decent, then no large loss, just thought it looked interesting and different from what I usually play, heh. Think its $1.5 worth?

SupCom2 is not the same pure win that SupCom:FA was - but it is a reasonable game. On the positive side, patching the bloody thing (unlike the original) is automagic via steam. The DLC, which I've yet to use, is still full price - pick that up later if you pull the trigger on this. Picking up a copy for my kid brother.

L4D2 for $5 is getting a lot of buzz on SD.

LOL that Civ V is listed by Steam as one of their deals and it's at the MSRP of $50.

Edit: Civ 5 is listed as a top seller (currently #10) and not as part of their daily deals.

Wish you would have posted this a few hours earlier. I'm half way through downloading it right now. I hope I like it more than you did. I just wanted to play a fun flying game that had good graphics and preferably involved killing nazis or japs.

Then you might be satisfied. It's a basic arcade "lite sim" that has good graphics but bad hitboxes (there's no hitboxes for the planes, really, and no location based damage). The missions are very basic and the gameplay gets repetitive really fast. There are multiple better games involving WWII-era aircraft, and that's aside from the definitive #1 (IL2).

I bit on L4D2 and saw the Civ 5 "deal" as well.

Still holding out for the wishlist deal.....

just bit on the L4D2. I missed it the last few times and I had a feeling it would come back for Black Friday. Thank God it did.

Wait, what? You're crazy, almost none of this is true. There is location based damage (you can clip wings off planes or blow up their engines), missions are about as what you'd expect from any WW2 shooter. Seriously, what else did you expect? It's not a true simulation where you spend 30 minutes flying to your objective and you have to take into account velocity during turns to account for stalls and whatnot, but it's a perfectly good game for what it set out to be, which was make a flight sim accesible for casual gamers.

It's also MUCH better than Pacific Fighters or Blazing Angels or any of those other garbage WW2-arcadey flight sims.

I have copies I'm selling for $1.85 (nyxquest), PM me if you want to buy one.

You're missing out. MW1 had an excellent 1p mode that lasted a lot longer than I thought it would. $15 for MW1 is a bargain. Forget about how old the game is or is not. The game still stands up very well against anything released recently.
Now, I own WaW, I've played a lot more of the Zombie Nazis mode than I have 1p, but that also is pretty fun to play. Being that it's a Treyarch title and not an Infinity Ward title, I put WaW lower on the totem pole.

I can't argue with you on waiting until MW2 or BO is dirt cheap because quite frankly I'm doing the same thing. I boycotted MW2 when it came out because of their port job and dedicated server gimping on the PC, and likewise despite adding them back, they have restricted dedicated servers to specific pay-only ones in BO.

But seriously.... MW1 for $15 = great deal. There is a hell of a lot more gameplay in that $15 than most other games you're going to find for $15 anywhere (especially when you lump in MP). You're missing out man.

So long as you don't mind that never ending rush of baddies until you cross the invisible line type of gameplay.

Personally that wasn't an issue as I advance anyway. But I think CoD4 was vastly superior to MW2 and CoD:BO.

The gunship missions in COD4 were AWESOME. Worth $15 just to play those.
while maybe not worth $15 by themselves, those missions (were there more than 1?) did provide some of the coolest moments I've had in a game

I would suggest buying that game for $15 as well

If you guys are intrested in the King's Bounty pack it is only $7 on Amazon download right now, you can save a $1.75.

My credit card put a security block on Steam due to the amount of rapid purchases I made the past few days. Worst timing ever, I was trying to gift some L4D2's to my friends, now that's out the window. And I'm going to miss today's sales and probably tomorrow's sales while trying to get the block removed.

Apparently spending $20 on Steam warrants a security concern.
Thanks Visa. Who would have thought someone would make a lot of purchases during Black Friday weekend?

If you want to believe this rubbish feel free, though anyone that says IL2 is "arcadey" gives themselves away. I stated my position, as a combat sim veteran since before Microprose I am telling you that Wings of Prey is a piece of garbage. Bad simulation options, bad arcade gameplay, bad DRM, bad online play with very limited modes, bad support for HOTAS setups, just plain bad in general. The only thing that wasn't bad was the visuals, which were reasonably good for when it was released.

Solution to that is put some funds into your Steam account wallet. That way it's just one transaction, and Steam already has your money when it comes time for the sale.

I didn't know that existed...
Would have helped a few days ago ;[

Use another card? Borrow a good friend's?

Oh, buy a prepaid credit card!!!!!

If your account gets flagged, your account gets flagged.

Attempting to use a CC that isn't yours (a friend's) is a surefire way to get your acct flagged.

All of this is why Steam wallet now exists. That way money's already with Steam when it comes time to finalize a transaction.
