it looks like there is no room to watercool the video cards. the space between psu and gpu looks tiny.

measuring from the edge of the circuit board Its a little over 7/8"... or just shy of 1 inch... not sure how far out the fittings on the full GPU blocks stick out so i cant help with a yes or no answer.

@Kaizerdan. Is there enough hangover left on the sides of the cards between the PSU for a full cover waterblock?

hmm ive never really thought about that, there is about 25mm from the side of my 470 and the psu fan would that be enough?

On another subject, the screws used to close the case are getting used. Do you think those will fit?

How close are the tips of the Megahalem heatpipes to the psu's surface regarding to alignment? Does the Megahalem extends beyond the Noctua ehaust fan?
 
well thats one way to fit a h70 in, i wouldnt be happy butchering my optical drive bay like that, by the looks of it hasnt even attempted to make it a clean job?

indeed. but what's interesting is the h70 in this case at all. why didn't he mention using the bottom 120 slot in front, anywhere in the thread? i can't see why it wouldn't be possible.

i think the h70 tubes are too short to mount in the bottom of the 354
 
For someone who has the case, can they measure the space between the front fans and the side panel? It looks like it would be wide enough to stick a res in.

I made a mockup model of a EK DCP 2.2 pump which is 45mm wide and it was tight fit so id say thats about your max, i can measure later today if noone else does in the meantime
 
Right, ive fitted the h50 in the rear, the side panel doesnt fit properly as I knew it wouldnt, however I might dremel the 120mm fan screw holes enough so I can slide the rad and fans futher into the case, it only needs about 4 or 5mm

Can't wait to see results. I don't see how drilling new holes ~10mm away or something would be too challenging, meaning a normal rad will fit in the back.

It wont be hard the only problem is too far and it will hit the fan controller, that could always be removed and replaced with a pci slot one i guess
 
I was thinking the side panel was the best place for a large radiator (if you don't need the drive bays). Specifically, the rad fans would blow 90 degrees to the front intake fans, providing a large positive pressure, unless you reduced the intake fan speeds to ~900 RPM. That way, you're not drilling holes in the case; you could just replace a single panel if something goes wrong or doesn't work right. I think you have room to mount it horizontally on the side panel....

I wouldn't want this personally because then it would be a pain to ever open the case, It would be hard to make it look nice (lots of cutting compared to drilling a few holes), and I MIGHT be putting my own window on the side anyway lol.

Will this fit 8 hdd ? Trying to build a fileserver out of this baby.

If not, is there any case recommendation for a 8hdd fileserver?

It would fit 8 with one of the bay adapters ive shown, or any other 5.25" to 3.5" bay adapter, it can hold 7 hdd's in the cages supplied
 
Here we go, h50 rad now fits in the back no problem after moving the holes 5mm or so to the centre, i was a bit upset having to start drilling my nice lian li case but now the side panel fits on a charm :)

awesome Bradmax57! glad someone finally decided to start modding this case, even the smallest bit is a big step. My question for you is can you still got either a 140MM or 120MM fan on top with the h50 there?

you could get a 120mm fan in i think but ive got push pull on the h50 now so that is a no go, not sure what would be better?
 
Looks great! and finding that modified drivebay on the lian li site just rearranged plans for this thing.

assuming i had an extra $800 for a watercooling system for my dream build, do any of you think you could put two 120mm rads at the front underneath this modified drive bay? I'm pretty sure a 240 rad wouldn't go without forgoing the drive bay but maybe two 120 rads could fit.

2 x 120mm rads would fit but without modding the optical bay you wouldnt get a fan on the top rad, well maybe a slim one but definately not a standard fan

even if you remove both hdd bays? the modified drive bay you are using for the hdd/slim dvd drive doesn't have that mount piece for the hdd bay. The fans should fit fine right?

The only issue i can see is trying to fit a full cover block on the graphics card. As someone said in a previous post there's just shy of an inch between the PCB and the PSU. There is about a 5mm gap between the PSU and the side of the case that might give me some extra room if i cut up the mounting feet for the PSU.

Hopefully i can get some pictures up at some stage to show you what Ive done so far.
