Couldn't find a thread on this so I thought I would make one.

So what has caught your guys eyes? Are you going to stay out in lines or are you sitting tight for Cyber Monday?

SSD deal would be sweet.

HD6970 deal would be hot as well.

It would be nice to see a real BF/CM deal. Like high good deals on high end gpu's.

Wouldn't mind hearing about what people think is worth going out for. I honestly haven't looked very much into it because it's information overload and you're not even sure if you've seen all there is to see in the ads.

I wouldn't mind getting a deal on a decent laptop, haven't had a reason to own one and now with the nearly weekly driving trips it'd be nice to have a laptop to keep track of things for now and potential web access via phone plan later...but wifi spots for now.

Otherwise I haven't seen anything I would want that I have the money to buy atm, and the lack of money is keeping me from browsing too much heh.

I'm looking into getting a TV but I'm NOT going out of my house. I'll just wait for the NE/Amazon/whatever else sale.

Did you guys know that someone got trampled to death at, I believe, a Walmart on Black Friday? I think it was like two years ago, I'm not sure. That's not why I'm sitting at home, I just wanted to mention it because I think it's absurd how crazy some people are over this...

Probably has happened more than once.

Looking forward to another Steam sale. I would like to pick up Fallout: NV and some other titles. I wont be venturing out on black friday.

black friday in store shopping is for the animals, in internets is for us intelligent folk

I have never ever never been out to buy anything on Black Friday. I dont think I will this year either. Just not seing anything that I need.

I can assure you there is no deal good enough to warrant going out and camping out for. Like 15 years ago you could get to Best Buy or any other store like 30 minutes before they opened and still be one of the first few people in the store and have a chance at getting something that was a great deal. Now you have to get there 30 hours before the store opens and camp to have a shot at getting something that's probably not even a great deal. Every year more and more of the deals ends up online on Thanksgiving or Friday morning, not to mention now you can get great deals on stuff online all year round.

Basically in store Black Friday "doorbuster" shopping has gotten watered down and is mainly for suckers.

If you're going to go shopping at a store on Black Friday, do so in the early afternoon. The stores will be empty and there's a surprising amount of the deals still available. Heck last year the Lowes by me was selling their Black Friday "doorbusters" at the same "doorbuster" price for like 2 weeks before they managed to sell all the stuff.

I haven't seen any BF ads yet, and can't seem to find too many

I don't think I'll be going this year. I did last year, but I didn't camp out or try to be the first one in. I think it's okay as long as you go out not expecting to score something. It's a little like gambling. You can play to have fun, but you shouldn't expect to win.

I just wanted to see what the fuss was about mostly. Had I actually wanted to buy something though, the two hour long line wait for the checkout most certainly shut down any buying for me. Took me almost 10 minutes just to get to the door empty handed. It was okay, but I figure this year I'm passing.

P.S.S. One place that is very safe to shop at is grocery stores. They're ghost towns on Black Friday.

the two that im hoping for are $1/gig SSDs, and $75 5770s.

from the few ads ive seen this year, and i hate to say this, walmart is the only place that has anything im interested in. batman begins and the dark knight blu rays for 5 dollars each, and the god of war remastered collection for 10.

ill probably head out late friday afternoon and see if i can pick those up. if not, ill see if i can price match some place.

looks like black friday is gonna suck this year, i dont see anything interesting, and i was even looking for stuff to sell back on ebay but doesnt even look like ill make much of a profit if at all, most stuff is marked down 50- 100 bucks on tvs and some other electronics, nothing really marked down alot for the sale

might pick up some blu-rays if I see deals on flicks I want... I can always pick up some more USB flash drives also as I now use them almost exclusively for music in the living room system and car now.. lol.. sounds like a weak sauce BF.. oh well.. I have a ton of shit already...

This Black Friday PSP3000 deal looks good...for $127. I want to play the God of War games on PSP finally. But still no good PS3 bundles.

I agree with others that say black friday has been ruined. Too many people got into it and went extreme making it impossible to get the good deals without large time investments. I also see the deals are very lame this year and I think they have been going down hill in recent years. I bet stores have realized that the door busters are not getting the effect they want. If the deal is really awesome some guy comes in to resell on ebay. In that case the person will not buy anything else other then what is really good and the store wont make any money on them. The even has become so chaotic I just go out mid morning and look for OK deals and I only do that if the deal is on a site like bfads.net.

This year I will go to microcenter because I want to get the 200$ i7 950 anyway. If they have any other parts to build a computer that are real good prices I will grab them otherwise I will just head home and order the rest on the internet.

the few.....

the crowd......

Black Cryday.

It's only good if you want to earn (a.k.a "save") about $3 an hour by sitting outside the local best buy before all the other saps do, so you can snag the so few items avail. Otherwise for most, you earn $0 an hour "savings" and spend more money then planned since a few things will be below cost (but still the same price as online typically)

Very true, I used to work retail and those loss leader items are specifically targeted and because there is so many people in the store you're more likely to just take that item and go rather than shop around.

I would much rather just buy online - although I do need to get some winter jackets.

I will never ever stand in line. I just don't think that it is worth the savings. To some it might be, I am in no way even close to calling my self rich, I just refuse to do it and most of my family is that way. I work at frys and last year I saw fricking better deals saturday and sunday after black friday. I really dont think that it was worth it for all the people to stand in line for 5 days.

Some of the deals were even better on saturday.

one of the let downs that I have observed is it seems like the sales are spread around so much now the actual day after thanksgiving is just another big sale day to go along with the rest of them..

I've found savings to be well better than that. Arriving 2 hours early at the right shops at least used to be enough to pull at least $30 in savings below sale prices on stuff you actually wanted with no race at all. You know, picking up the flash drive deal for $5, some memory cards, maybe a printer or ink. They're not commonly attacked items, but they are at good prices and things that you might need. Heck, I arrived at Old Navy's well after opening and still got a $5 fleece. And the deals on cookware at Kohl's were also available well after opening, and better than Amazon's black friday sales on the same items. So while it's cool to have a self justification as to why you stay inside, please don't spread false ones.

Also, newegg had a large sale last year in addition to 11% back on top of that with the help of bing. I rather think it impossible for them to touch the same level this year.

jeez.. the sales this week are going to be huge.. pretty much every day is going to be a BF.

yea, so i have access to teh best Buy deals now, as part of their rewards program, and there's just nothing there I want...

Sad really.

I'm hoping tehre will be better deals on Cyber Monday.
