So the new year is coming very soon, and usually that bring on new phones in January / February, well with Android it's like every few weeks :p So what rumors are out there for the hot new phones due in early 2011 ?

- Any solid truth the iPhone is really coming to Verizon or T-mobile, like has been strongly rumored that past couple of months ?

- Android, what is the big new release ? Nexus-Two ?

UPDATE;
Nexus-Two;
http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/11/nexus-s-for-t-mobile-gets-brief-best-buy-mobile-nod-there-and-g/

A tipster to RadioAndroid pegged the Nexus S name late last month and claimed it would feature Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen, and a Hummingbird processor. TechCrunch later described a Samsung-borne "Nexus Two"

When Steve Jobs walks out in front of a packed crowd wearing a black turtleneck and jeans and specifically, using lots of adjectives, says clearly that the iPhone is going to <carrier>, then it's going to <carrier>. Until then, it's just a rumor.

Seeing as they release a new Android phone about every 42.6 seconds, and the hardware specs don't veer too much off in a given segment, if there's one "big new release" there's at least two more coming out around the same time. It may make more sense to get a general idea of the specs you want then find the phone(s) on the carrier of your preference that come closest.

Next "big thing" for Android is Gingerbread. Who knows when that is actually coming out.

I haven't even heard of Gingerbread. :D Anyway, I think it would be better to wait. More advanced phones are now coming out in the market before you know it.

Verizon already has the iPad, so it won't be a suprise if we start seeing iPhones through VZW.

Also, if I recall, LTE/4G is coming to Verizon wireless too, so I'm sure there are 4G phones that will be released around this time.

I'm content with my Droid situation, but will be doing some heavy research in the few months before my NE2 is up in September to where I'll be going to next. I would love to see VZW pick up the new Palm Pre. The new WebOS2.0 looks pretty nice.

About one month ago, Channel 2 News in New York reported that the iPhone will be at Verizon in January 2011.

I hope they weren't lying like the weathermen do.

I am surprised Apple doesn't allow T-Mobile to sell the iPhone 4, first before Verizon. Some of my Polish friends have the iPhone 4 running perfectly on their T-Mobile account with the 4G, or whatever T-Mo calls their upgraded 3G service. They just bought unlocked phones from Europe and also jailbreaked them.

It would seem Apple, doesn't need to do any hardware changes or anything at all really, to release it to T-Mobile, and that would give Apple how many millions of more buyers ? For Verizon to use the iPhone , I think the hardware needs to be slightly changed to work on their band ?

I have also heard the rumor of Verizon selling the iPhone in January. If true, will it be the exact same iPhone 4 ? Or an iPhone 4.5 ? Or lesser phone like an iPhone 3GS ?

Don't see it this way as this is not what it sounds like. Verizon doesn't "have" the iPad in some special sense. What Verizon does is take the wifi-only iPad and include a 3G dongle. Verizon's iPads are no different than the ones purchased at Best Buy.

No, they don't. The iPhone was never produced using the 3G (or FauxG) bands that T-Mobile USA uses. The best anyone can do on T-mo is EDGE. Now, if they were on the European T-Mo, that's a whole other story.

I just spoke to my Polish friend yesterday, he is using a MyTouch 3G on T-Mobile U.S. right now, he said he just bought an "unlocked" iPhone 4 on the black market, or the "Chicago Polish market", and this weekend will hack it to work on his U.S. T-Mo account, and specifically said the 3G + HPSA network will work on it, he said his other Polish buddies already have it doing so.

How that is, I have no idea ? Unless these "unlocked" iPhone 4's he is talking about, came from the European market possibly ?

Have him run the speedtest.net app or something, that'll make it clear as day whether it is on 3G or not.

i think the tmobile network in europe uses a different freq. than the us one

Just doesn't happen, sorry. T-Mo in the US uses the 2100Mhz (AWS) frequency for its 3G service, and iPhones all run on 850/1900 in the US, 900/1850 in the rest of the world.

For them to be yanking you like that is like them telling you they hacked an AT&T iPhone to be used on Verizon. Or even better, Nextel.

Now I need to see him soon, and see his iPhone4 running on T-Mobile with +HPSA network in the top menu. I will take a pictuire of it and post it here, if indeed it is even true, which from what your all saying, sounds like major Polish BS. How do you say bull shit in Polish, bullshitzky :p

I'm just waiting for an officially supported android phone with a 720p screen (hopefully something along the lines of 1280x800 since 1.6 aspect ratio FTW)

Checked the site out and I can say I'm impressed with the specs. Hopefully, better phones will come next year. I will be saving my bucks 'til then. :)

I find that funny from the same person who posted this thread: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1561031

In which an article you link to clearly states this isn't possible.

Don't shoot the messenger, my Polish buddy told me his iPhone 4 on T-Mobile uses the 3G+, I have not seen it myself. He could be telling me bullshitzky. The more I read about it, it seems impossible for it to work.

That is why I found that article about unlocked phones not really working on other networks in the U.S. like it would sound on paper.

...How cool the Nexus Two will be is irrelevant. What is relevant is what medium will Google use to sell it? If they try the same bullshit they did last time by selling it only online, then it's guaranteed to fail, regardless of how good the phone is. I hope Google learned that the phone won't sell if people cant touch it. Oh, and advertising usually helps too.

Wow that new LG phone with dual core tegra 2 looks awesome. If the screen is 720p resolution or more, I'm sold.

I would have loved if LG hadn't fucked up the evV Pro so much. I really liked my old Voyager (precursor to the enV Touch) before I got my Droid and missed its big-ass keyboard. If LG made this phone with a high-end CPU and GPU, then it would be my perfect phone even if it's somewhat fugly. Functionality > everything else.
