I remember reading that they were knocking down the stopping power of them and fixing some ret bug where it closes too slow. So you get REASONABLE powered slugs now that are a little more accurate.

Good riddance. I got tired of seeing so many recon using that kit.

they arent more accurate though. the crosshairs are more accurate the guns way less accurate.

but im done with this game. patch has pissed me off way to much. maybe if i actually remember to check to see if DICE actually fixes(which they wont because its DICE) then i might start playing again. waste of 30 bucks..
 
Yea I noticed that shotgun + slugs can't hit shit. I will take my sweet time, let the crosshair settle in, and aim at a non moving targets head. Miss. Miss. Miss. Hit but no HS. Then he kills me. This is with a medium range target, where this gun should excel. I dont even try and hit snipers anymore, but that was fun before the patch.

Sound has always been fucked up in this game. I can't tell how many times I have been sitting in silence to just die by a knife of someone that came up with no footsteps.
 
I don't know if I just connected to laggy servers tonight or if this new hit reg is a gigantic bitch. I'm getting killed after running around corners 8/10 deaths now.

F2000 is very nice, though.

Chat box blue tint fixed, the G3 was somewhat unfucked, less M-COM tank sniping.


A negative most people miss:

The CG was not nerfed, in fact, it was BUFFED! That's right, its kill radius was "accidentally" increased. GG Demize99 you fucking dimwit.

same shit happens to me but its before i run around the corner. though i blame it on my wireless connection. but i also noticed it happens more on servers i have a ping lower then 100. which means i cant play on any seattle servers, i have to play on servers where my ping is between 125-180.

It's cheaper to let their customers (us) bugtest it for FREE, than pay a bunch of trained monkeys over at QA Romania.
 
Wow, just jumped on a couple servers and the rubber banding/lag is really bad. Even with 70 ping.
 
I play on the 1000 ticket atacama server.... didnt have any problems... played for like 90 minutes...

But the shotgun is broken... when you blast someone in the face with it who's trying to knife you... you get knifed and die.. THEN they die... makes no sense... and it wasnt just a one time thing.. happened 3-4 times...
 
Knife is still broken. It almost seems like they tried to tweak it and screwed it up more. I had a lot of easy knife shots fail last night. WAY more than normal.

Shotgun accuracy is fucked up. It almost feels like they added a random check whether the bullet hit or not. Sorry you didnt roll a 6, your perfectly aimed shot doesn't count.

Tanks shooting blanks. Really wtf did they even touch that would make the animation for the tank shell to go invisible. It's like they tried to fuck it up, or let some new programmer loose on their code and told him to fix the bugs.

On a side note. SMG/LMGs still rape you no matter what range you're at. Fuck dice and their shitty update/programming/game. BF3 is starting to slowly move to my "no effing way" list of games, especially if they take anything from BC2.

the knives wacked out because of the stupid knife animation. im sick of getting knifed by a guy thats 20 ft away from me while i put a clip into his effing face and still die. also the CG's are buffed to the point that they are insta kills if you shoot a tank or APC in the back that doesnt have the armor perk.

Yea isnt that the truth.... one of those reasons i ditched playing MW2... the knife was bullshit... you have to pull it out of its sheath... while someone is putting rounds into you.. and you still kill them? lol.. crock of shit... knifing needs to just be eliminated.... but... i do like dumbasses who miss and get a full mag put into em...then.. for the death animation... i pull out my pistol and shoot em in the face a few times...

yup.. tried giving the game a third chance tonight but ive had enough. deleted the game and threw the disc away. waste of 30 bucks but what ever. at least it will save me 15-30 bucks now that i wont be buying BFBC2 vietnam expansion.
 
The game is now full of shotgun noobs. I still do well, but it's annoying to get shot long distance from a shotgun.
Seven people on one team had shotguns with slugs. Reminds of Halo. Monkey see, Monkey do.

for me it was everyone using the F2000 and CG's now. friggin useless getting shot across the entire map by a damn smg!

Gustav splash damage did seem reduced but still getting spammed.

The weapon damage against the MCOM kind of sucks IMO; if you get on a shitty team that won't attack you might as well go find another server because you're not going to shell it, rpg it or C4 it. So far it doesn't appear to have changed the way people are playing.

Reducing the reload time for vehicle countermeasures was a mistake though. It's bad enough when you have a good pilot pwning the server but now it's near impossible to bring him down. I'm pretty decent with the tracer dart hitting the helicopters but now it's a joke. Land a dart; switch to Gustav.......flares deployed. Switch to dart, reload, plant and by the time you try to lock on again, flares deployed again. :mad:.

the splash damage on the CG while reduced for troops is buffed on direct hits against vehicles. id rather have the excessive splash damage over them being able to kill an APC or tank in a single shot..
 
The damage radius was reduced but the kill radius was increased, thus it was buffed and not nerfed.

Just yesterday I was Atacama desert capturing Flag C when I was 'sniped' by a sniper with the 870 shotty who was on the broken ship at Flag B. No slug ammo, just normal shotgun + magnum ammo. I was on full health. One shot one kill. I couldn't believe it.

I no longer remember when or which one, but in one of the patches quite a while ago, a bug was introduced that fails to show slugs on the perk list of someone who just killed you.

or hacks.....an 870 even close range often wont get a kill shot against a full health guy ... unless head shot.....atleast from my experience

they do now. its definitely not hacking. because even my friend was doing it and i know he doesnt hack. he was just running around blasting the hell out of everyone he saw with the 870 and magnum ammo(no slugs) whether they were 5 ft away or 300 ft away.

Pump shottys have always been 1 shot anywhere close range with slugs (have all 3 at plat).

The problem is their 20% hit rate at any range. If it doesn't register the hit, they don't die. Since that happens most of the time, I just stopped playing.

I also tried playing without the slug, and there is no way to kill people long range with that. Even mid range the spray is too much and you would have to get really lucky for that to kill someone.
 
I've only used slugs since I started using the shotty...

I use a pump shotty with slugs and magnum ammo on all my classes, I've got over 14,000 kills with the 3 different pump shottys, I'm @ 48% accuracy and 20% of the kills are headshots. So I'd say I've got a pretty good idea on how the shotty slugs setup works...

This new patch has completely fcked up the shotty slug setup. They should have left the crosshair how it was, but they just had to fck with it. Now you have to wait .5 seconds for the crosshair to completely close before you can shoot or else it will be a miss roughly 50% of the time. Also I swear the damage it does has been lowered. I need to play some more with it to be sure, but last night I had it happen to me multiple times of what would have been a 1 shot kill turned into a 2 shot kill.

It's much harder to run n' gun with the shotty now since you have to wait for the crosshair to get fully tight before you shoot. They pretty much turned the shotty slugs setup into a class for a noob sniper to camp with.

Ok as break from the whining about the patch being too this or not enough that, how about a fun question?

How many times have you took a shot at someone at some crazy distance/angle/position and actually got the kill. Like I thought I saw a shots being fired from inside one of the buildings on Lagunda and i just popped a 870 shot over in the general area and got a kill.

You know, those kills you get that make you think, yea they gonna accuse me of hacking and I have no explanation for it.

With all the complaining about things being all screwy, how do you know you weren't on the other end of someone else getting really lucky, and I don't mean sex.

I love getting those types of kills... You will hear me on TS all the time say "wow he is gonna be pissed about this or call me out for hackin"

On average almost every night I'd get a semi long range shotty kill (2 hits) on the pilot of a blackhawk, but since the patch the slug doesn't seem to blow through the bottom left side of the heli where the pilot sits,
 
Ok...weird thing happening for me now. If I get on a low ping server (like 30-100), I am getting killed behind cover a helluva lot more now. If I go on a mid ping server (100-200) I am perfectly fine. Same spots, same tactics. Weird.

Played Valparaiso a few times the last couple days. If it takes a lot more damage to take out an MCOM...I can not tell. People are still doing the same old shit. 1st set of MCOM's always fall to tanks unless tanks are taken out fast. 2nd set, people are just using rockets. 3rd set tanks. 4th set stopped on the hill. Notice no one even bothers to arm?

AN94 still crazy. M60 still silly. CG seems BETTER on vehicles..and still killing peeps.

Did they really patch? They gave us a placebo I tell ye!
 
Is anyone else having an issue with the tracers not showing up when you are gunning in the chopper?
 
haven't touched this in a while. are the rush maps still fraught with snipers not pushing anything?
 
I've given up.

Now I just go recon, kill an engy with the CG and spam a lot.

What is SAD is this is STILL the game I play the most. Please something save me.
