Crucial Refurb SSDs: 64GB $64, 128GB $128, 256GB $256

This doesn't seem to work. The 64gb drive isn't listed on their page, only the 128gb and 256gb. Neither of them will add to my cart.

Update:

Only the 256Gb is left.

I can add the 256, but the 128 won't - which sucks because that's the one I was gonna get.

Ah well...

If they would give at least a 1 year warranty on their refurbished products I would be all over this. I've had way too many problems with Crucial products in the past to rely on a 30 day warranty.

Yea a 30 day warranty is shit. I wouldn't trust it on an expensive purchase like this.

also, that 30 day warranty would be shit even if these were new, these are refurbs...

that said, if they would've had the 128GB available I would've taken my chances with one for about $140 (I'm guessing), but a 256GB for $268...? nah, I need more warranty for that...

about as wise as knowing it will last something like 100GB of data every day for 10 years.

wow.. Someone want to buy 2x 1st gen intel 80gb SSD's for the cost of one of those 256gb drives shipped to me?

I bought a brand new Corsair Force 120 SSD about 3 weeks ago.

Having issues with it as version 1.0 firmware has sleep / hibernate issues that cause blue screens sometimes.

But I was on Crucial earlier and saw these refurbs and was able to pop on 4 of the 128's.

Hope I get them.

Holy shit man.. Awesome luck for you.

got the 256gb, and free next day shipping since they screwed up my order last time they had this deal.

Copying my boot drive over to it now :)

This was the fourth time now that I've orderd a pair of the 64gb drives since first time this deal came around in April. Cancelled every time. At least they are consistant.

Yeah my order went thru for my 4 x 128 drives.

Nice profit I will make. Have 1 sold to my friend for $225 and will sell the other 3 on craigslist.

Thank god the audience on craigslist is huge enough I can stop using ebay. I lose 9% cash on every sale.

I've sold maybe $3k of stuff on there, about 1k a month over the last 3 months and my invoice is always 90 - 100 dollars a month. Fuck that.

Very nice... I own the 256gb version of this and love it. I sell some on ebay but the fees are huge, plus another 2.9% for paypal (around 9-10% of my money goes to ebay then extra for paypal). It's ridiculous... not really comfy with craigslist due to needing to meet in-person :( and buy/sell with cash for hundreds of dollars.

damn you had your friend pay double what you paid, that's fucked lol......

Maybe the friend didn't catch the deal, or doesn't care to buy stuff online like this? It's still a good price. I'm not sure personally I would charge extra to a friend (unless they weren't very close) but I don't see anything "wrong" with it per se.

I can't believe he would sell one that much to a friend when they are refurbs and only carry a 30 day warranty. What a great guy. I doubt he will disclose that information when he sells them to CL victims.

the price he's giving his "friend" is a good price for a new drive that is warrantied, these are refurbed with a 30 day warranty, maybe the poster meant to say "acquaintance" instead...? because I agree with almost everyone else here, my friends and I don't try to profit off of one another, real friends don't do that imo, especially if the product is suspect in any way, what are the odds that these refurb drives are the ones you see negative reviews about...? pretty high imo, one guy was on his 4th RMA, "hey, ship him a new one and we'll box this one up and sell it as a refurb!" x4...

but I guess it's possible that people's definition of a "friend" can differ, no...? I wonder how he'll feel if that friend skips a Black Friday sale or something similar on a SSD and then his drive fails, the sale is over, it's past 30 days and his "friend" is out $200+...?

He is probably one of those Ebay sellers that flips hot deals such as this and lists it as BRAND NEW when it is actually a refurb or used.

They really need to put qty limits on these sales, so people not looking to be shady resellers get a chance at grabbing one.

Black Friday better have some SSD deals or I will shoot myself, I signed up, had a 256GB in my cart, looked at some reviews and thought "better" of it, I hope I made the right choice...

No, it's my best friend in fact.

He lives 120 miles away. It's a 3 1/2 hour drive for me, I have to pull his computer, install the OS, drivers, tweek, etc so it takes me a good 5 to 6 hours.

All said and done, it evens out. I've know the guy for 20+ years. If I charged less, he would give me more, we've been doing the whole Chip and Dale, no, I insist, you first game forever.

That is why I never assume. I'm always proven wrong.

Everyone just assumed I was ripping my friend off. Jeesh.

I will make a nice little profit off craigslist or so I hope. I just dropped $295 on a Corsair Force 120Gb SSD. Would like to off-set that cost.

Cool story bro. We all like hearing about you ripping people off. Next?

You don't know a thing about me. How does this clown have all that time next to his name and still here on hardocp with a attitude like that? Really.

Besides, with that price choke site you don't even need hardocp hot deals or techbargains, or techdeals, and haven't for years. you add in a site, product and it watches for prices and informs you the instant there is a low price / price mistake etc, it even fills out the order for you so all you have to do is click "confirm order" ...

Remember those Dell AY410 2.1 speakers for $24 w/ free shipping, I bought $6,000 worth of those. I'm still selling those for about $40 each, still cheaper than the others at 50 or 60. Don't pretend you know anything about capitalization, the biggest money decisions you make are how many mc doubles to buy,

Hook me up with a little more info about this site. I've never heard of it. Do you have a link?

what a bunch of fucking morons. Just because the guy saw a deal & jumped on it with intentions of making a profit doesnt mean he is ripping people off.

That drive is 275 + shipping on newegg. So if he sells it as 225 refurbished by crucial then its still a good price. & Why should there be a limit to how many an individual can buy. It just costs the company selling them more to ship to more people. I Can guarantee if someone wanted to buy all of them to ebay crucial wouldn't have a problem with it.

A 30 day warranty on anything over $100 is not a good deal.

profit mongering when it comes to your "best friend" who is totally oblivios to the fact...lulz...

You ever bought a used car? How bout a used refrigator? How bout 90% of the electronics & computer sections on craigs list. Most are over 100 bucks & 99% have no warranty.

who said he was oblivious to it? The poster has other work to do in that case so its not like he is meeting the guy at a gas station & getting handed a wad of cash..

There I fixes it, and stop comparing cars and friges to computer gear that will be almost worthless for resale value in a few years.

So you buy a used anything electronic you wont spend over 100 bucks. Because its not likely going to have a warranty. I have bought Large TV's Computer parts & just about anything else tech wise used regardless of the warranty because a deal is a deal.
