Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

I think it was an HP LaserJet 2100...not anymore though. It got the beat down. I've got a bunch of other videos on youtube of me destroying stuff. Why? Because, all that stuff is broken, and shooting guns is sweet. I think these were shot with my M4.

Now I know why the ATF exists. Well, at least the alcohol and firearm are here. Don't know if MavsX smokes.:D

You do know, you can make money from things like those right ? Shooting is fun, but money is funner :)

well, the stuff we shoot is all stuff from my office that has crashed, or is broken. We just pile it up in an office for a few months, and then take all over it home. Then we go out to the range with it. So, I'm sure there would be some sort of issue with making money off of this old junk. We usually go up there with printers, monitors, laptops, blackberrys, hard drives, cell phones. Lots of target shooting. My buddies and I have quite an arsenal between us. Lots of AR's, shotguns, lots of handguns, in the 9mm, .40, and .45 flavors. We all have no priors(duh), never been in any trouble, have our concealed handgun permits, which require background checks and fingerprints down at the local courthouse. I've got a lot more pics and videos, that i haven't uploaded.

I just watched a couple of those videos and I gotta say damn I just don't understand you gun-nuts.

Yes I have fired an AR several times.

It's cool man, It's just a hobby i'm in too. Surprisingly, a lot of computer nerds that i've met are into guns too...

Are those gun shots or paint shots?

Those probably sell for $10 or $20 if you are lucky. Model is too old. 3rd world country dont mind though.

definitely gun shots, that monitor was shot with .223 and .40's and then blown to bits later by turkey shot from a shotgun

Ha, well where i live, all of this is legal. I don't smoke....it's fun times man. doing men stuff!

Posting here and in the workstation 2010 thread.

My setup. Inspiration for the layout of this room came from my paranoia of having my back to the door as well as pictures in this thread and the LCD setup thread. Sorry for the quality of the pictures but I was using a cell phone camera.

Thats 2 25" HP and 1 22" HP in a portrait configuration. All hooked up to a Sager 8760 with only 1 video card, so no eyefinity/3D vision surround for me. :( Still the laptop is a beast.

This is a horrible picture but this is the view from the desk. This way, during football season, I can make sure I am able to work on classwork and not miss the games. WHO-DEY!!!

I know wire management is not perfect for the entertainment center but after an hour of trying I gave up. I would say for the entire room, desk and entertainment center, I have about 4 hours of wire management, 35 hours of assembly labor, and 10 hours of general setup involved. It's ALMOST perfect, just need my model of the USS Constitution to put on top of the desk hutch and a model of the original USS Bonhomme Richard to go on top of the bookcases.

Another excellent workspace. Very nice minimalism and clean lines. Also looks like nice speaker placement (I can't really get a feel for the distance the rear speakers are behind you, but they do seem perfectly ear-height. I stopped using 5.1 systems ages ago because of the hassle of speaker placement.

jayoneill...may i know how did u managed to mount the 2410 up?...i believe there isnt any VESA mounting holes...currently using 2410 also...

@hpv500 Had to do modifications with the bracket that the stand came with, bent it to a 90 degree and and then had to modify the mounts aswell took a bit of work.

So is nvidia surround worth it on those beasts or not? I have been debating to try it out and buy a third 30 incher, but I can't decide if its worth the cost to just "try it out"

i think you have one of most poweful systems here.:)
i am thinking on buying that same 950 cpu you have, the 980 is too rich for my blood.

The 980 is only for those that work in the digital field, rendering, making movies, compiliing etc... the 980 is actuarially slower for gaining by a few points. Kick ass processor no doubt but for a few points not worth all that money...no way. i actually ordered one then canceled it.

Get the 950 price is right man...

Here my new setup change some things around

Sorry for the bad pic had to take it with pseye my camera down at the moment

Do you guys keep the boxes and Styrofoam for your lcd's? I've had my LCD for over a year now and I still have it stored in my closet. I'm thinking of throwing it out now since the TV is out of warranty. Should I do it?

I threw out my three monitor boxes shortly after getting them as living in an apartment doesn't grant you alot of space. I was lucky though cause when one of them wasn't quite working properly. Benq sent me a box for the monitor itself so that I could ship it to them. So really up to you but if you need space then I say just throw it out.

If you have space, store them. I still have the boxes to my 3 Samsungs and when I move next year I'll transport them in the boxes. I also keep the boxes to my motherboards so that when I sell after upgrading I can put them back in the box.

@ digitalcaveman - I'm jealous and thirsty! That is one hell of a setup. If you ever feel like becoming a monk or something make sure you leave that awesome rig to me. I'll look after it well.

Do you need someone to watch it for you while you're at work?

Click on the pictures for their Flickr page + notes (ID of hardware). Was going to have the computer in the second "office" room, but found out I like to have the TV and computer in the same room. Go figure.

And.. since it is in the same room... my HT set up. Think I posted this in a console thread. Again, you can click on the images and see the Flickr page with hardware notes.
