eWiz has had this drive ~$65 mark for a month now...

Damn good drives! :)

I have two in my own desktop and couldn't be happier with them. Compared to my Western Digitals, they run cooler and quieter. So if you're looking for just massive storage these will get the job done perfectly.

I'd buy a couple more if it wasn't for the fact that money is tight now. :(

I Dont order from anywhere other then the egg. Too much bad luck elsewhere & whenever I have had a problem with newegg they just look to see how much money I spend with them & they make it right.

HMM, I have two orders with ewiz, they were shipped ten times better then how newegg shipped my order. I reciently ordered a LG NAS, and guess what they shipped it in its original packaging, they didn't even bother throwing it in another box. Not that I wont order from newegg again, but there shipping has taken an epic plunge. Ordered a gpu cooler from ewiz and that thing was packed so nice even though they didn't have to do it since it has no moving parts inside. They bubble rap the hell out of it, I could play soccer with it if I wanted.

Ewiz is arguably better than newegg now.

I am not saying newegg is the best.. I am saying that they take care of me. The only time I ever got pushback was when I RMA'd a 775 board that had a bent pin in the CPU socket. I called them & told them it came that way & the girl thought she had muted her phone while talking to her manager so I overheard there conversation that basically entailed my history with them & ending with the manager saying give him whatever he wants.

To me never having a problem is important, but how problems are handled is even more so. So newegg has earned my loyalty. It has to be a Hell of a difference for me to order elsewhere. & 10 bucks isnt enough of a difference.

Sounds like you've done a lot of RMAs with Newegg?

If I was having to do RMAs based on something that had nothing to do with shipping problems (never mind shipping problems with Newegg since they pack things like they don't care...), I'd start looking elsewhere myself...

I do know UPS has nothing good to say about Newegg...

Nothing but good things to say about Ewiz. Have been slowly using them more than NewEgg recently....Excellent online store with professional customer service when I got a bad Athlon X2 5000+. Just picked up a 4GB of DDR2 800 FOR $60. It's generic ram, but its for a spare computer anyway...as long as it works I'm happy..and even if it doesn't, Ewiz is a joy to work with.

in over a decade of orders almost weekly that motherboard was the 1st defective item I have ever gotten from them. all other RMA's were for shit that was incompatible & my own fault.

IMO for this deal if I was buying only 1 drive I'd get it from ewiz. For more than one I'd get it from newegg since it will be a little cheaper. The football15 coupon is only good for $15 for anything over $100 so the more drives you get the more expensive ewiz's deal becomes.

bastage, I love newegg too, but I've bought hard drives from both newegg and ewiz recently (within 6 months) and ewiz's packing materials are FAR superior to newegg's.

in the last 12 months the only mechanical drives I have bought have all been Samsung eco drives from newegg & all were packaged as well as I could ask. 1st in the plastic shell from Samsung, then wrapped in bubble wrap & then in a white cardboard box & then in the Styrofoam peanuts & then in a large box (all were purchased with other shit)

I have...it's been fine...
So you actually returned something?

In addition If your item was defective, example hardrive, they will RMA it for you and return a refurbished part for your new order. If your item had a compatibility issue, or works with there limited testing, they will not provide a refund period stating they only accept returns on unopened products and return the product to you at your cost.

So the few bucks savings is excellent if your product works out of the box, but if you ever need to return something your in for another treat at ewiz.

They have forum lurkers and I was banned for posting a negative experience on reseller ratings due to repeating lack of real time inventory issues. They have the right to refuse service, and I have no problem with that. However, banning people that post the concerns they have from prior purchases (and refusal to change those policies) shows they have little care for customer service and only want your money. As mentioned, look at reseller ratings under low and you will see numerous accounts of this stance.

Well, I had an Athlon x2 5000+ that was $30 that I wanted to Unlock...it didn't so I thought I'd use it for a budget pc for a friend...the CPU ended up giving errors even in dual-core mode..so I rma'd it with EWiz, Customer service was very professional and helpful. Asked me if I wanted a refund or a replacement, I wanted a refund, as I instead just bought an Athlon II x3 440, from Newegg. I have no favorites in life, just whatever I could get cheapest and with good service...Newegg and Ewiz do that for me.

Shocking, whish they would do that with the majority of the customers.
How many places do you know of will not accept returns on opened items? Were not even talking about a restocking fee, just returns period.
In many cases, as you indicated, you may not know theres an issue unless you attempt to install. Going by the policy they can simply refuse, as they desire, referencing the said policy below and you can see plenty of recent examples of that on reseller ratings (sort by low).
Don't get me wrong, I think a few people have ruined liberal return policies (example costco). If you don't have a problem with these policies, continue to purchase from ewiz.

Returns for Repair or Replacement
SuperBiiz.com provides a 30-day repair or replacement warranty. Please obtain an RMA number and follow the return instructions included with your number.
All defective, dead on arrival (DOA) items will be inspected and tested by our RMA department. If the item is tested to be in working condition, the RMA will be rejected and the item will be returned to you. Some items are non-refundable and can only be exchanged for the exact same item. These items are described as "not refundable" on the product detail page.
Defective parts returned for replacement by SuperBiiz must be received within 30 days of the original invoice date.. Items received by SuperBiiz after the initial 30-day period are no longer eligible for refund and will be forwarded to the original manufacturer for repair or replacement only, the choice of which will be at the discretion of the manufacturer. For repair or replacement inquiries after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer directly.

For product replacement or refund requests, please return the entire item package including all accessories. Package contents will be verified for completeness before a replacement / refund is issued.

Note that any physical damage will automatically void the product warranty and we will return any products that exhibit physical damage back to you. For example, we cannot accept CPU returns if the item is cracked, chipped, burnt, has bent pins or if the item has sustained any other type of physical damage. We highly recommend carefully reading the manufacturer's instructions before installing your product.

Please make sure that your item is actually defective and that you have ruled out other incompatibility possibilities before returning the product. When we receive the returned item, we must test it thoroughly to verify that it is actually defective because our suppliers (usually the manufacturer) will not accept returns or exchanges for working items. If we determine that the returned item is in working condition, we will ship it back to you.

Can't speak to others but, I had no problems for rma's or restocking fee.

Man, I forgot how much I paid for it....no wonder I went with the Athlon II x3....hmmmm....

I have always been treated well by Newegg and by Ewiz. Newegg has shipped me the wrong drive before, and their HD packaging SUCKS about 50% of the time. Last 3 drives came packed decently well though.

The only bad experience I've had with newegg was when I ordered a Powercolor Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB and they sent me a Powercolor Radeon 9200 64MB....I was PISSED....but Newegg was professional and helpful, overnighted me a Connect 3D (remember them, euro-only now, I believe) Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB....I was happy...THAT was the last and only mistake they have made....and that was a while ago!
