Dont forget to get your Metro 2033 after registering card.

Wow, I am VERY suprised I got in on a deal. I'm usually one of the guys posting how I just missed out or got screwed up with a CC or payment and such. Here it is rollin along @ 775/1550/1800. Just ran 3D06 and banged out a nice 23000+ with the temps topping out @ 66c. Fan speed only bumped up to 47% (40% stock) Not too bad considering my CF5770 just ran 25000+ not more than 30 min before this pass.

Thanks to the OP for a good find. Sorry goes out to the guys who missed out.

Mine was. Not that it matters much. I'm currently cooking this thing at (840/1680/2000/1.05V). Good enough if ultimately stable.

Also, it looks like in addition to the SC2 demo code we got in the deal, we're also eligible for another code at the EVGA site. LOL. So a 460, two SC2 demo codes, and Metro 2033 for $146. Nice.

Well, there's 1GB GTX 465 for $168: http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2211854 .. potentially unlockable into 470 ...

Missed out on the 460, but luckily got in on this (they were gone in about 15 min). From comments at NewEgg looks like high chance of it being unlockable to a full 470 -- if so, I'm so glad I missed out on this deal to buy the 465.

Came with the two free games as well.

Just got my Metro 2033 key. I'm actually pretty excited about playing it. I love survival horror.

My box came today looking like an accordion, I just refused delivery. I don't think anything survived in it.

Edit: lameness I just called chiefvalue and they said they are going to charge me a restocking fee. When I asked them earlier about canceling my order they said there was no restocking fee if delivery was refused. If that's the case I'm just going to have ups stop the package and I'm going to get the card back and test it and sell it..

The newegg box is WAY bigger then the card's box, and the card comes in a plastic enclosure. It should have been fine.

I just got mine.

you must have oced that 5770 to the max to beat a 460, thats impressive.

He said 5770 X-fire.

LMAO! Sorry bout that...shoulda made it a little more clear. Anyway, the 5770s run just fine for what they are. I just couldn't pass on this deal. Still kicking around gettin another one to SLI em. Kinda overkill for what I play, but boy CF and SLI LOOKS kewl in the case, lol.

I STRONGLY recomend changing the TIM on these cards. Mine had more then enough for three cards.
Its very easy, only 4 screws to take off the whole HSF. Only tricky part is how sticky the paste they use is, so wiggle 1-2 degrees for a minute, then use a screw driver or something pointy to gently push the pieces the screws go in to on the back of the card. Should pop off after one of them comes loose. Dropped 5C using Gelid GC2.

$6.99 for a 7 gram tube and an aplication tool. Most other TIMs are 3-4 grams with no tool, and this stuff performs like TX-3 / MX-3 on CPUs, and so far is the best paste Ive ever used on GPUs. Its really thick but easy to apply with the tool.

Cecil, you're not kidding about the OEM TIM. I popped mine off last night and they really caked it on. At first I thought I had missed some screws but it eventually popped off. I applied some old AS5 I had lying around. Hopefully it helps.

Anyway, I'm curious about how much paste you applied. I covered the entire IHS but I'm wondering if that was really necessary. I wanted to use up the old tube, but it seemed wasteful. I remember the AS5 instructions for IHSs was to use a line and allow the HSF to spread it so I'm wondering if that would be a better strategy next time.

My card really sucks up voltage and scales well. I think if I had it under better cooling I could really push it but alas I'm stuck at 860/1729/2000/1.078V. I think that's good enough with a Q6600 driving it.

EDIT: Guys, those SC2 keys have some value, too. I sold both of mine on Ebay for about $3 each after fees. So the cost of the card is down to $140.

First thing i did when i received the cards was changed the TIM with some shin etsu. My cards/heatsinks were smothered in TIM, i cleaned them off with some 70% alcohol swabs and applied just a tiny bit shin etsu (maybe like 2 grains of salt worth) put the heatsink back on and twisted it as much as i can.

So the tim covers the whole middle but theres about a 1/4 of an inch not covered by it (kind of like a cpu)

WTF no audio over HDMI??

Is this 2010 or 2001?

Obviously, shame on me for not doing my research before buying this card (my decision making process took a total of about 18 seconds when I saw this deal, lol).

But it can't be that electrically complex to do the same SPDIF routing procedure nvidia has done on many of their cards in the past.

I'm pissed, now I'm going to have to figure out a different way to get audio to my HDTV.

Before you freak out you should do some research. Install the latest WHQL drivers 258.xx they include the physx and hdmi audio drivers. The latest betas 259.xx do not include those.
You think nvidia wouldnt include HDMI audio in one of there latest releases? :p

Hm. I did what I probably shouldn't have done and read the manual, it said nothing about audio over hdmi other than using the spdif header.

hahahaha who reads manuals these days :p
I know, right.

I never would, except I figured it would be a good place to learn how to get audio over HDMI.

Thanks for pointing it out, I'll give it a try.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Installed and running 2x monitors. This is a tiny card compared to the GTX275.

Folding away of course.

It is tiny isn't it? It even fits in my htpc

How much performance boost did you experience? Cuz ffxiv open beta is kicking my gtx275 ass majoely.

Folding wise my ppd is about the same, maybe a bit more.

Havent played a game yet.....that would lower my points per day. :p

I havent really dont anything with my card yet, but it idles at 28C in a 74F room, and afterburner says stock core clock is 720Mhz.
