should always have backup credit card for these things :)
 
i tried... paypal cancelled their virtual debit card feature plug in, i looked long and hard for the plug in from elsewhere but failed :( i even signed up for the debit/credit card, but was disappointed when it said it would be here in 7-10 days :( lol i was trying everything, some crazy virtual credit card crap but the site looked sketchy... oh well i failed i don't deserve this card

Yup, I use their one tome use CCs all the time

Their feature is hidden on the site, they simply stop the plugin

That happened to me before also and I didn't want to jump through the hoops of their one-time payment option. Now I have the debit card so I won't go through that again.
 
It is still active. Paypal says the last day to use it is September 22nd.

Or do you mean that you can't find the plug-in to download?

I love that thing. Maybe Google will come out with one
 
Right, I think the plug-in still works until September for those who have it installed, but for those who don't it is no longer available to install.

No, it wasn't. The SCII price was wrong but the deal itself was the correct price. Several people have called CV from slickdeals and were told that is the correct price and wasn't a mistake.

The likely reason that it is so cheap is that EVGA gave it to them at a good price. Excess inventory maybe?

Many large retail companies have other rebranded websites they use to move product. I been to many outlets of large retailers that would have the item in store for one amount, then the same item is 50% off in the outlet store. It's always good to know the outlet stores of each retailer to know if you are paying fair market value. These items are purchased much cheaper than what we think. Newegg buys in massive bulk which will drive the wholesale cost down even further.
 
Mine wont be here for another 2 days, I do prefer chiefvalues tracking, it links to ups, neweggs tracking system is usually wrong for me.

It's a 2 year warranty on TR models. But that's still a great deal. You could sell your 460 or you could use it as a badass physx card with the 5870. LOL.
 
does anyone want these? I've got a few that are going to ebay and a few that I may sell here. Send me a pm. I don't want to rip anyone off, but I do wonder how much they will sell for.

P.S. They are not in my hands yet, but are coming in two days.
 
For those who missed out, I bet the 1 GB version of the 460 will be selling at sub-$150 prices. Granted, that might not be until Black Fri. or early next year, but it will eventually. :D

ATI will have the 6800s out by then and these will become average. $150 would be a reasonable price for them around that time.
 
Mine comes tomorrow. Im downgrading from SLI 470s with 3x1920x1200 for this to do 1920x1200. Hope I dont regret it that much later one, but the amount of money back is too good to pass up in my situation.

a super high end card wouldn't push the low/mid range down like that

the 465 is being moved as quickly as it can because, despite the fact that it performs similar to the 460, it draws a lot of power

nvidia is probably also motivated to sell as many cards as it can right now because ATI's er, AMD's new 6000 series cards are coming out within the next 30-60 days, and there is probably a lot of potential for those cards to destroy the Fermi line in terms of price/performance considering nvidia's struggles with Fermi.

AMD will set the MSRP, Newegg and other retailers will increase the price.
Newegg couldn't increase the price on their Nvidia cards like their AMD cards. Both brand of cards were comparable so it's hard to justify a price $50 over MSRP.
AMD will have competition this time so I expect the price increases to be moderate.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. Too bad they've only been dumping the 465 and 768 MB version of the 460. The 1 GB version of the 460 is still at nosebleed prices ($200+). I'm on the lookout for a 460 1 GB for a friend who wants to upgrade his 8800 GT.
 
just got off the phone with them, they said they couldn't keep up with the orders and sold out. They also said that it's wasn't a pricing mistake, wow. This should be great PR for them. I hope this isn't the last great deal they throw out there.
