Started up my PS3 and a work computer folding 2 years ago. I don't have the spare computer now, and my PS3 would crash when I ran it. *sigh* I have a different PS3 now, so I'll give it a try again. If it's not doing much, I'll see if my wimpy home computer can add anything worthwhile. Later all, and good luck!
(edit) Just added my GPUs to the mix. A GTX260 and a 9500GT in the same box, my main PC. This should crank up my points faster!
Alright. My main workstation (Dual W5570 Xeon,) hasn't been properly stress tested yet; so while I have joined team 33 ([email protected],) I don't wish to "officially" enter until I've had a few days to make sure it's okay. If this system can't cut it (it doesn't have the greatest cooling, and it's in a small home office that could very possibly overheat the whole room leaving it at 100% CPU 24/7,) I'll probably task another system to it; but I don't want the downtime in the meantime counted against me. :-D
Plus, how do I get the team badge?
(I've done distributed.net, worldcommunitygrid.org, and seti@home at various times over the years; including being #1 in distributed.net for one day back in 2000)
Long time lurker, first time folder. Been meaning to look into this, and the possibility of this giveaway was just the prodding I needed. I will eventually be able to get all 5 of the machines in my household contributing. Count me in!
I will join, got an old p4 that's been doing this for about a year, I think I will get my PS3 in doing this and my HTPC as well. Maybe even my desktop when I am not using it.
I also have a PS3 guide without pictures with the PS3's latest update.
The beta console I am using is giving a 3-5 percent increase but during setup set the compatibility mode to Windows xp Service Pack 3 under Windows 7 64 bit.
I am just waiting for ATi to release its Open CL 1.1 language so that it can be intergrated into the Folding Program.
