BFG RMA questions/stories?

Just got off the phone, they told me their warehouse is empty of everything. Right... PSUs, MBs, GFX, systems - well then I guess they better start liquidating shit so they can keep their fucking promise.

LOL, how can they liquidate when they claim to have zero inventory? I guess anybody who owns any kind of BFG product is screwed now and should just give up. I wonder what brought about this huge downfall. They must have been losing a lot of money in the past 2 years.

I don't get why people always equated BFG for a big name when it was always only a bit player, a small fry. Unlike EVGA, XFX (Pine), Sapphire (PC Partner), Galaxy, Asus, Gigabyte, etc. which actually backed by or are divisions of east asian manufacturing companies, all BFG ever did was import and rebrand hardware from Asia and slap their sticker onto it.

Tell me who the big Asian backer of Evga is please. Just because the founder/CEO of the company is Asian doesn't count.

Office equipment and supplies, testing hardware, etc.

Hey Johnny, do you have any idea if BFG is totally going out of business or is this just a phase? (couldn't think of anything else to call it)

I meant it as in companies that had it's own major manufacturing facilities (one in California and I think another in Taiwan) for EVGA. BFG was basically just an American reseller (for graphics cards) who tried to differentiate themselves through good customer service. I'm not sure how BFG produced their powersupplies If I am wrong, please correct me.

As for liquidating capital and fixed assets, I think it would be highly unlikely for a company to do that just to fulfill RMA requests rather than paying off other more pressing debts, especially in the case of bankruptcy.

As per your forum, I just realized you were also the Project Manager. I apologize if I have offended you in that regard as you obviously are much more in the know than I am. I have no idea about BFG's powersupply line.

Yeah they're in deep trouble. Most likely liquidation will amount to 10% of the debts they already owe. No way we're getting any RMA support at this point.

It's a sad day... I can't stop thinking about this and had to say something. I'm sorry, I'm late to reply but have been looking for other business opportunities.

I was let go a while back, hence the lack of response. I can tell you guys that any card that I could get replaced while I was there, I did. Everything else was out of my control. I wish you all the best of luck in the future, and I know it's a really shitty situation.

It's been a good run and I had a blast helping you guys out and being a part of this community. I'll still be around, but now just as me, not as a BFG employee.

I thank you guys for the support in the past, and again wish that I can continue to be a part of your community without any hard feelings...

I want to have your babies. I mean. Thanks for everything. Good luck.

Jeff, you are a class act! Best wishes...

Thanks a lot man, I truly wish I could have done more, that is certain. It really pains me that it had to go down like this. I'll still be around, so you guys will probably hear from me in the future, a little less restrained and that might be a good thing!

Class. As much fun as that might be, this company was good to me, and I lived it for years, helping people after hours, being involved in this fantastic community (as well as a few others), and getting to know a lot of good people.

As much as I hate to not be involved anymore, I have a lot of respect for what was going on before I got let go.

Super tired after this weekend, it was pretty epic. Awesome sauce, or I mean awesomesause? I think I'm cool with that. Sorry It took me a minute, I'm a little slow sometimes :)

I can say and have to say, I love you guys and am so happy that I was involved in this. IMO, there is not a better community/forum out there!

Well, they answered the phone and looked my RMA up with something - at this point I don't give a shit if I get one of those fuckers' stapler - red Swingline asshole.

What's messed up is you can still order systems from them.

Oh - he also told me that they 'just ran out of cards', so when I asked him why that mattered when they had my card for a month and a half he had no answer and tells me to call back tomorrow.

Maybe he just didn't want you to take his stapler.

That being said, I should tell Kyle to make me a regular joe, about to do that...

No Jeff. You need to be the Iraqi Information Minister of BFG. When BFG is truly completely gone, you need to make regular announcements of how BFG is alive and dominating the industry and Nvidia peons are throwing themselves to their deaths on your front door.

Get over it. BFG is dying, along with their services. They can only promise, as long as they are still a company. If circumstances prevent that, then... it's just not going to happen. BFG has nothing to support themselves on, and it's likely nVidia (based on the messages about their "supplier" is no longer allowing BFG to purchase remaining geforce stock.

Well, only last week i got a new card from BFG, I thought I was gunna lose out because when I called I was always told the warehouse was empty, but they will be sourcing more stock.

So I wouldnt give up hope just yet to those who are still waiting on a replacement for their rma.

afterall, am in scotland and my replacement turned up 5 days after dispatch, so they are still sending cards out, or they were last week.

That being said, I should tell Kyle to make me a regular joe, about to do that...

Hell no...wear that title like a badge of honor.

Kind of like having a tattoo of a girl who you once loved with all your heart but who then dumped you for your best friend.

Installed the card I got from BFG last week, I did it this morning after I read this thread.

Guess what ?

The fucking piece of shit doesnt work.

So basically, I sent BFG a card that worked perfectly except for the fan, they send me a total piece of broken shit to "replace it"

Bastards, I hope everyone at BFG DIAFF today.

ouch that sucks.

Jeff, were you in the Illinois warehouse? If so, you're probably responsible for getting my 9800gx2 turned around and out the door, so thanks for that.

they are not going out of business stop flat out lieing.

They are no longer going to produce videocards.. they still have power supplies and computer products being made and sold.

Well ... have to say:

I TOLD YOU SO

I phoned BFG today after I found my replacement was DOA.

The dude on the phone said that they are NOT accepting anymore RMA's and any RMA's they have ATM will be shipped back to whoever owns it.

So it really isnt looking good, the dude specifically said that they have been told to stop allowing RMA's to be processed, thus no one now can get an rma, even I couldnt get one for the piece of shit they just sent me.

Jeff,

Great service - you actually sent me your phone number and answered when I called. No explanation can let you know how awesome that was man. Thank you for the great service you provided while at BFG.

Regards,

JT

Awesome... I was happy to learn that my card is finally being shipped back (last Friday) and I was excited to post on here that my card IS Being shipped back!!! WOO HOO....

Until I read the forum... I have no doubt that mine will include the infamous letter and my previously broken card. I guess I can try to bake it, but oh well.

Can't be TOO mad as companies DO fail. You can't expect a company that goes under to honor lifetime warranties on cards as they are unable to.

Bad timing on my part and all I can blame was myself. I had the card for 2 months broken before I finally sent it out. I may have had a chance at the RMA and even a potentially upgraded card if I had sent it out earlier.

Oh well... Back to trusty EVGA (which is where my newest motherboard / graphics card are from anyhow)

I'll see what I can do about dying in a fire today.

Hey Jeff... Bonfire at my place?

Neither of you work for BFG any longer - am I correct?

So his statement doesn't apply to you.

On another note, why would you want to be associated with them now? I sure wouldn't, throw their ass under the bus - everyone else is.

Time to go whip up a fresh batch of baked 9800gtx...

PS: That entire message was typed while I took a massive burning shit.
