So far I have found these 2 laptops that are within my price range:

What do you think of those specs for everyday gaming? I went on HP's website and was able to customize it for the same price WITH 6gb of ram...but I had to lose the bluray drive and 140gb of HD space.

TG has this refurbished model that looks pretty good for the price. What do you guys think?

The HP is better in the CPU department but absolutely crashes when it comes to the video card. The HP has a ATI 5650 and the Asus has a GTX 260m which is miles more advanced...especially if you plan on gaming with it.

To me the choice is easy...if you are looking to game on the go, the Asus is the only way to go if those are your only two choices.

The ATI 5650 is really that bad? I should of mentioned that this is for my brother who doesn't have crazy standards when it comes to video game quality. As long as I can throw 2x AA/ 2x AF in WoW/CoD/BC2 then he's good to go.

I'm open to any other suggestions in the $750-1200 range.

The HP doesn't look bad for light gaming, but a new version of the refurb you were looking at is ~$1000 at Best Buy:

Even better if you can swing the price or wait for a sale is this one:

My buddy and his wife both just bought that model and they absolutely love it. Enough horsepower to rock gaming for a while.

Holy shit I just found a refurbished version of that laptop for $899!

If you can spend $1200 then get a Asus G73 haha...other than that, yeah, the 5650 is really that bad...especially when compared to a GTX 260m ;)
