Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines Patch 7.0

Can someone find me a link to this? I'm ready to try the game out and I want the latest patch but I can't find a link.
Found it.

A little back story on the tragedy of Bloodlines

Troika's Jason Anderson, who served as the game's Creative Director, among other things, laid the blame squarely on publisher Activision, saying that Activision took the game out of Troika's hands without ever giving them the time to test and polish it. It's true that Activision had a timetable for the game - they even advanced Troika more money so it could finish Temple of Elemental Evil for Atari more quickly and put the whole team on Bloodlines. But Troika has to take some share of the blame for trying to build a complex RPG with too small a team using a brand-new technology.

Bloodlines accomplished something great: More than five years on, there is still a dedicated community creating unofficial patches and restoring cut content, a feat that few games - even incredibly popular and well known ones - can boast. Great games may inspire awe, but Troika's swan song stirred a feeling in players that is just as powerful: devotion.

If you've never played Bloodlines but enjoy Vampire action RPGs I recommend checking it out. All you need is the game and the latest official patch and the latest fan patch

Alternate link per schifter

another working link

Works perfectly in Windows 7 64. All you need is patch 7.0 and this: http://www.fileplanet.com/156598/15...e-Masquerade:-Bloodlines---Resolution-Patcher

Install that into your bin folder where engine.dll is and run it and you're all set. :)

Time to see what a "completely batshit" female Malkavian is all about. ;)

Please pm me for dead links.

Any idea if this works for the Steam version?

Yeah it does, it's officially Bloodlines 1.2. This Fan patch just massively cleans up the game. It fixes textures that were broken or missing, broken quests, removes glitches, enhances graphics a bit.

The patch is mandatory IMO.

I did send an email to them to see if I can find out why all of those servers are down and when/if they'll ever be back or how to get that patch some other way.

If I ever want to replay the game yet again and I get that patch I'll make sure to just back it up and keep it on hand at this rate.

VM: Bloodlines is still one my favorite games of all time. The fan community patches are a must have.

Epic game. They really outdid themselves. Too bad they couldn't have time to polish the game, otherwise it would have sold better and we might see a VtMB 2.

BTW, you don't need the official patch. The later versions of the unofficial 6.0 and on (maybe 5.0 and on?) already have the official patch included in it.

They responded to my email. :)

There was a bug in our system in regards to downloads, which we fixed a
few hours ago. All should be fine, I tested a download for german patch
6.8 from Filefront and it worked just fine.

Two reason for thread necromany:

1.) They're up to patch 6.9 now

2.) Thanks to PC gamer for this heads up: wiki.thedaedalus.net

Vampire:Bloodlines Revival Source as in Source Engine. Can't wait to see this!

I gave Vampire: Bloodlines a shot and remember not getting all that far...I should give it another try sometime.

we're on 7.0v apparently now. Updated thread. Requesting an admin change the title. Patch-scrolls is reporting they have it but they don't as with last time. If somebody could go bitch at them it'd be appreciated.

Started going through this game again 2 weeks ago. Towards the end now... I honestly might even play it again - Top 3 RPG of all time for me.

Wow, the source engine update would be extremely relevant to my interests. Only two guys on the team though. I wish I had those kind of skills so I could make some of these projects come to life.

Yeah, the Steam version should really incorporate the fan patches - it only makes sense.

Sounds awesome! I love VBtM!

So, is this going to be just an engine refresh of VBtM, or is a whole new game that was just announced as being in development? I'm cool with either one, just curious. I'd love to see VBtM updated to the level of L4D2 or the new Alien Swarm (really nice particle effects and shadows!), but a whole new game in the series would be really magnificent news!

That was a very cool game. I haven't tried it in years (back when it was a bit broken) but I might give it another go if I can find the disk.

I remember playing the first game (Redemption) quite a bit back in the day, too. It was also very buggy but pretty damned amazing if you had the hardware to run it.

How do you install the version 7 community patch if you are running the game on Steam? Cheers in advance.

I don't have the steam version, but it shouldn't be much different. If anything, the readme will say if there is something different.

btw, did I ever say that this game rocks?

Haha what do you find so appealing about it, out of interest? I mostly bought the game off recommendations from here but I am yet to start it. But I have kept a close eye on the community patches which seem essential.

the game dialog is *very* different depending on the character race chosen. the stories are actually interesting. some good consequences also.

If I had to summarize it, it's the atmosphere. I haven't played a game where you feel the atmosphere quite as strongly. The characters are quite believable.

And, I don't know, it's just fun to be one wicked bad vampire (not necessarily speaking in the moral sense), surprising even those in powerful places as you carve a name for yourself from starting out as a newbie. Guilty pleasure maybe.

Plus there's just plenty of "those little things" just puts it from good to awesome. I guess it all adds up to having an awesome atmosphere. Covers a wide range of experiences from scary, to funny, to bizarre, to disgusting, to sleek, smooth, and sexy, to surprising, to downright wacked out demented. And I left a lot of stuff out.

You don't have to be a vampire lover to really get a kick out of this.

The atmosphere is amazing. It's not just another fantasy RPG. It's really different than any other RPG that I have ever played. The roleplaying elements are also very strong. There are different ways, truly different ways to complete most quests.

Wow, just installed the game and patches and it looks great. However, fighting seems to be a bitch. How do you prevent it from going into 3rd person mode? Controlling your vamp in 3rd person seems fucking impossible. Am i missing something here?

Yeah with the fan patches, the game is actually pretty frickin stable. It is definitely one of my favorites.

I played this game on my then cutting-edge ATI X850xt, and the game stuttered like mad. A total slide show.
