Wow, what a great deal. Wish I had a Fry's! My logitech 5.1 computer speakers have been my home theater speakers for almost SIX YEARS!! They still sound suprisingly good. The things get used every day for hours by my wife, and I can't believe how long they've lasted, but we're starting to want something with a little better, fuller sound. And by "we" I mean "me." My wife things the logi's are still just fine! :p

Define 'good'

I'm no audiophile (obviously), but I'm remodeling my entertainment room and I threw out my old Kenwood 5.1 set that has a wonky receiver. I'm going to get either something like a $400 Onkyo 7.1 or Yamaha 7.1 for the receiver, I'll have a center speaker of some sort (haven't looked into it yet) and 2 rear speakers and sub for a 5.1 setup. The setup is mainly for movie watching via PS3 (bluray + DVD). I just need something with crisp sound... I really have no other way to define it as I'm clueless about audio.

I had a pair of these and they're exactly what someone described earlier. You get what you pay for. They're definitely a step above any computer speaker or budget studio monitor. But after you buy them, it won't be long before you will be wanting more.

You mentioned movies and 5.1 then here's a better deal http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1914870

get 2 floorstanders + 2 bookshelves, then as budget permits grab your center speaker then a nice $200 and up subwoofer.

There is just such a large quality difference between the Monitor 60s vs Polk's R50s and its worth stretching your budget a bit for this one.

I agree, get a subwoofer. Polk has one that matches the wood of these that's aroudn $200-$300.

I would advise against Polk subs. They make decent speakers, but their subs leave a lot to be desired. For the $200 price point, I would buy a BH-100 sub - miles away better than anything Polk makes in that price range.

I am assuming you are talking about the Bic H-100? Id go with the Bic F12 at that price point, you can get it for under $200.
