Does anyone remember me anyway? I'm sure you don't :X

I haven't been folding for a while... In my tiny bedroom, I could no longer keep up with the heat my systems were producing. But I have now moved from that room and have better circulation!

So since yesterday, I am back into the folding game again :) It's been more than a year, I think, since I stopped... Have I missed much? Hehe.

Welcome back Syribo!

Glad to have you back :)

Those 8800GTS's will put out a ton of points.
Also there is a new CPU client for Windows :)

You know, I was just wondering a couple months ago where you went to. Seems I even looked up your account to see when you last logged in because you were pretty active there for a while and then just disappeared.

....so, welcome back!

Have I missed much? Hehe.

Most important thing for you to know is that the Windows SMP2 client/A3 work units kickass....the only reason to run the *nix client is if you're crunching -bigadv on an i7 or a server (which judging by your sig is not the case). :)

Now if I could just figure out how to get BOTH GPU's folding. I remember it used to be a horror to try and have both GPU's folding at once... It involved soldering something, or something (And I'm not great with that stuff... I've never soldered in my life!). Is there.. an easier way to do it now? I'm sitting here watching my one card get up to 80F and work like a monster.. while the other one is sitting at idle.. seems like a waste!

I missed this whole board way too much. Though... I must say.. some of the folding farms you guys have going on have gotten even MORE insane and are making me feel extremely jealous :)

Use the GPU 0 and GPU 1 flag in your shortcut / config files for your two GPU clients, thus keeping the processes seperate.

Guys, this is wha you want in a woman! One who appreciates the size of your [H]ardfolding rig! :D

/me always had a secret crush on Syribo, I remember her well.

Anyway, the soldering you are referring to are probably dummy plugs. Which OS are you running these days?

Ah! So that's all there is to it now!? Also, the size of a mans rig or farm of rigs is more important than just about anything else ;D .. As long as it's bigger than mine :eek:

Aw Tobit haha. I remember you, and most of you actually.. so I'm not losing my memory, that's good!

I'm running Vista 64-bit still on my good computer.. XP Pro (32-bit) on my old crappy Dell that I've had since 2003 but it's still pushing!

Everything in my sig is still up to date.. I haven't really had much money to spend on updating anything haha :X It saddens me that technology gets so outdated so fast, but we all know that feeling. And my Q6600 is still kicking some ass.. as are the 8800GTS's! :D

Vista requires a monitor or dummy plug plugged into your second card(s). Maybe someone on the forum has a spare dummy plug they could send you. I know at one time someone was selling them.

For dummy plugs I just use the dvi to vga adapters that come with my vid cards and stick the resistors in. No soldering required.

I've got several dummy plugs that I'm not using if you need one. Just send me a PM and let me know if you want / need one.

So you just put the dummy plug in and that's it? Nice :D You just need one? I'm assuming you put it in the second video car slot? Though, I have one GPU folding right now and for some reason it's GPU2, which I thought was weird. I can't remember if it used to fold on that card and not the 'main' one.

You'll likely need a dummy plug for any card besides the main one that your monitor is on under Vista. If you're running three cards, you'll need a monitor plus two plugs for the remaining two cards, etc. How many GPU's do you run per machine?

Oh I just have two GPU's on my good PC (Two EVGA 8800GTS (512MB) overclocked. And then I don't even think I can fold on the GPU on my old Dell haha. It has an ATI 9700 Radeon Pro 128MB GPU heh. I just run the text console on there. I also run the PS3 client too.

Welcome back to the fold!
Name looks familiar, but It was from my time as a lurked here I think

glad to have ya back, just don't disapear again :)

Now if only leSLIe would return. leSLIe and Elledan and Syribo.. OH MY! :D

Oh I was wondering myself about leSLIe actually! I totally remember her of course :)

I had to go to my nephew's 13th birthday party today and the first thing I checked when I got in were my folding clients, to make sure they were all running well still ;) Oh I how I missed this feeling.

I know I won't be upgrading any time soon, I wish I could!! I have absolutely no money leftover for hobbies after food and other necessary bills, but I know every bit helps! So I hope my two computers, and PS3, continue completing WU's and helping out somewhere out there, as small as their results may be compared to others ;)

I sent Leslie a PM yesterday, but haven't heard anything back from her...:( Hope she hasn't totally forgotten about us....

I don't recognize you, but that's probably because you were around before I started actually coming to the DC forum here. Welcome back!

Good to have ya back!

Fold on!

*idly curls around Syribo for warmth*

With my GTX275 mostly out of the game and a mere Q6600 to replace it, I'm missing the immense heat the GPU produced. Still winter here :p

*shoves some chocolate chip cookies and kitten plushies into Syribo's arms as a welcome-back-gift* :D

Welcome back! You just need to be able to extend your desktop to the second video card's output in order to fold on it. In order to do that the vid card must sense a display. I have my main rig hooked to an LCD TV, so I just hooked up a second cable to the TV from video card 2. That way if I lose a window onto the extended desktop I can switch inputs on the TV and go get it.

welcome back.. since freaky finally broke a million points i threw my GTX 260 under your name because of tobits vote/request.. well until you hit a million then its on to some one else..

And there I am, looking at my stats page, trying to figure out why my points are higher than most other days :D:D

Thank you all for the welcome back :) ... and if I didn't feel like it would be such an attention whore thing to do, I would post a new picture ;)

Might want to check with SirMonkey and see if he's fronting you a few points. He's been known to help other folders out like that every once in a while. As far as posting a new picture, I'd say go for it. It isn't like there are many other gals folding, so don't worry about competing for attention anyways.

Hey, did those dummy VGA plugs arrive yet?

EDIT - I just caught up on the thread...looks like SirMonkey has fessed up before I could even mention it!

I'm still feeling good about my Stats... even though in the back of mind I'm saying to myself "THEY'RE NOT ALL YOUR OWN POINTS" :D:D I hope I am getting the most amount of PPD that I can get from my good computer... I also hope I am using, and have configured correctly, the best clients. I should just take a few screenshots of the numbers HFM.NET monitor is saying I am getting for stuff hehe.

And since you've all been as kind and helpful as always... here is a much more updated picture than the one from 2 years ago that was taken even more years ago. (Though this is nothing special... I took it on my DSi a few days ago, so the quality is not great :D).

Nothing like a pretty face to bring a smile to this old curmudgeons face.
