Steam Weekend Deal: X-Com: Complete Pack $2!

God dam I thought those $5 deals every week were amazing now it seems like $2.00 PACKS will be wrecking my bank account. Bought XCOM Pack Freedom Force Pack and Psychonauts this week all for $6... thats like 8 games for $6 wow... I should disconnect my internet soon :0

Are these fun games? I've bit on a few Steam deals that were $5 or less.

Their epic. Well they were in their day and age. If you like old games you'll love these. It is turn based squad combat on a square (not hex) map. Oldie but a goodie.

Low prices on old games.

Sounds like Steam is trying to kick gog.com in the nuts. Especially after their Activision deal.

I have been waiting for this deal for a year. No joke. Thank you op.

I've heard legendary things about this game since 1996. I think now that 14 years have passed, I can finally give it a try. :D

wish ufo aftermath was included. the earlier ufos are awesome but the graphics and stuff are incredibly dated :p

Played the first game's demo on a 1.44MB floppy endlessly. Only ever owned Terror, though....what the hell, right?

SWEET. I have the first xcom on ps1 and loved that. Also had Apocalypse but that got lost in a move and never beat it. for $2 you can not go wrong. Always needed terror from the deep. I know just Xcom 1 is worth it, and you get 4 free games. ha.
Now, I dont know about enforcer or interceptor but we'll see

Awesome, in for one. I've been doing these lower sysreq older games from Steam a lot more than fancy schmancy newness that put graphics ahead of gameplay. Since I grew up playing 4 color CGA graphics games the graphics are no problem :p The only 'problem' might be making sure they play on new OSes since I doubt I'll get through them in any normal amount of time! (I know these are updated for Vista but I'm thinking in the future too.)

Bit. Xcom Ufo Defense is commonly at the top of the best PC games ever list. I spent so many hours on that game.

These games are like Uber Old. Like... 16 years old. I remember playing them on a 486dx2/50.... I wonder how they will run with todays power. Will it make it render in 3d and stuff?

no 3d, runs exactly the same

Got like 30 or 40 games on Steam and I've only played ... 5 of them? Now this + FF. But $4 : \ Guess I'll go rob a bank tmrw, Sunday anyways.

Actually... 36 cents tax is a deal killer, but solved by jacking a hobo and reselling his cart to another.

Haven't had a chance to play these yet. Are there any hints or tips for playing the original on a current PC, possibly in wwidescreen?

I have no idea what these games are, but for $2, how could I turn it down?

If you've never used DOS, you might be let down.

Let's just say this is a 'purity of essence' and 'not a purity of form' situation. Its how it plays and definitely not how it looks.

Speaking of DOS games, and I'm going way back here, does anyone remember the game "3 Demon"? It was my fav. game in the '80s playing on the family 8086 PC.

Why is it that whenever I see these threads, the deals already over?

You know, maybe that's a good thing...

I bit, But it wouldn't launch :( , kicked me outa steam and I can't remember the password or answer to secret question. I rememberthe last time I played X-com (from a disk) on a newish computer; when you get to the "world" 3d navigation thing, barely clicking the arrows would make it turn incredibly fast... I wonder if they fixed that...
