Best Colorimeter for up to 250$

Hello, I was wonderinrg what the best Colorimeter is avaliable for up to a 250$ budget. I read on here that the X-Rite Eye One 2 was good and TFT central gave it a good review, but the competitors aslo seem to get them as well.

Apparently Callman is a program to use for some one who is just starting out. I just need a Colorimeter. After using professional sites and AVS (plus my own tweaks with Lagom and others) settings on my 950, 2233rz, F2380, and a few other displays I am hooked.

So any recomendations? Thanks for your time.

I am willing to pay 300$ if it's a vast improvement but would prefer to keep it @ 250$ max.
 
X-Rite Display2 is maybe the best option.
The Spyder3 would also be a good alternative but I would recommend to buy it from Spectracal.com where they being tested beforehand. Otherwise, you could get an inaccurate unit.
Please note that the Display 2 and Spyder3 are not recommended for plasma (not temperature compensated) and LED LCDs (inaccurate calibration table).

BTW, I am a big fan of CalMAN. This software is perfect for calibrating computer monitors and HDTVs. Display 2 + CalMAN is a winning combination :D
 
Thank you for the replies. I will be using the unit for an LED tv so would X-Rtie Eye One Display 2 still be ok? It was what I was intially recommend also I heard bad things about Spyder3 from many different people (it costs more as well).

I'm pretty much decided thanks.
 
AFAIK, there is no accurate colorimeter for LED at this time for our budget.
The errors are not supposed to be huge but they are there nevertheless.

The cheapest colorimeter that is LED certificed is the X-Rite Chroma 5 ($600!!!).
