This guy is the king of eBay scammers? Really? Hasn’t there been bigger eBay crooks than this?

He headed an extraordinary global network of criminals selling millions of pounds worth of counterfeit golf clubs to eBay customers in the biggest scam ever uncovered on the online auction site.

Lots of people make money from legit ebay sales. This guy seemed to have a decent understanding of ebay, you'd think he could of just made his money being legit :p

Also, ha@him owning a floating restaurant in Australia, that's awesome.

So he was selling counterfeited goods, just think it only takes 3 dollars to make. So real goods are such a rip off

wtf golf clubs? and wow these putters look weird. guess even in golf stuff needs to look high tech. at least chess pieces still look the same as 50 years ago. yea, both so called "sports" are equally boring to me.

But the quality wasn't as good. It said that some golf balls exploded when used.

Sure that £100 club probably only cost more around £10 - £20 to make, so yes it is a rip off in that regards. But they quality of a £3 club isn't going to be the same as the more expensive ones.

Wouldn't be suprised if the real one cost 4.50 instead of 3. The fact that he was getting away we selling replicas as real for four years means they were damn close.

This guys sounds like no idiot. I bet he could have made just as much money selling legit items. Or just change the damn name of the clubs by one letter. People would still buy them. I guess greed knows no bounds.

It's called margin. To sell real ones, he would have to pay real money for real ones from the manufacturer first, yes?

...selling millions of pounds worth of counterfeit golf clubs...

When did they start measuring amounts of golf clubs by how much they weigh?

Oh wait....

Or it could be that people don't know how well the real ones are suppose to be. A club is a club in regards to what it does. However some of the "better" clubs are supposed to be designed to help you hit the ball further and straighter. However for the average person that owns "normal" clubs, maybe they see the name, buy these thinking they are real and never realize that they aren't doing any better with the newer clubs. Or they think that the better clubs just aren't doing much for them.

They could be the same quality as a normal cheap golf club that is usable, thus they didn't get a lot of broken ones back. However still not give the same performance gain that the real high end clubs would give you.

Sure there are bigger ebay crooks, but the difference is they are only ripping off customers and not business, so it "doesn't matter".

Performance gain? HAHAHA.. oh wait, there are people that actually take golf seriously, my most insincere of apologies ;)
