I bought 2 of these from cowboom in October. They were a little slow in shipping them out, but I received them in excellent condition.

They are very versatile routers with 3rd party firmware and work great in client bridge mode for xbox wireless AP's. Can't beat the price @ $17.

I purchased a digital camera from their DealOfTheDay site a month ago, and bought several things via their eBay store - had zero troubles.

I'm in for one.

Ah heck.. make it two.

Yep. Snagged one also. I've been waiting for a wireless router with decent specs and aftermarket firmware abilities. This one seems to fit about perfect :)

Thanks, I've been looking for a cheap bridge for my 360 and for my main desktop.

OP - can you tell us the hardware version (or post the first 4 letters of the SN)? DD-WRT compatibility is all nice and dandy, but Tomato is where it's at :D

The 2 I bought in October are the same as these. The first 4 letters of the SN are CO61. I am running DD_WRT on both , no problems at all with either of them.

Tomato will work fine, flash from the stock firmware to DD-WRT first, then use the web ui and upgrade to Tomato. Links on "how to" are in the post by PHiZ.

Bought one. Eff'n tired of my roommates POS Belkin crap crap router that stops working every day and resetting the damn thing.

Once I get this one flashed, gonna destroy the other one.

i dont think this is a very hot or even warm deal. theyre used, and theyre old tech now. not a bad buy, of course they are one of the best budget routers ever... but $10 more can buy brand new wireless n routers that are just as reliable and run ddwrt as well.

took a chance on it being used and bit. TY OP

Well, what the T-Mobile branding says to me is that these were used in some general consumers house, so I don't expect them to be messed around with too much...

Also like to add my thanks to OP!

One of the best (if not _THE_ best) Wireless G router for DD-WRT, overkill for almost all applications even.

I picked one up cause my WRT54GS died on me after about 2 years randomly. Been waiting for a steal on a new flashable router. Hope it doesn't show up DOA, wont be worth sending back.

They dont always make them like they used to, at least linksys doesnt. I have used/deployed a few WRT300N's w/dd-wrt over the years and they are garbage compared to most of the older WRT54G's.

Got a link to a $10 router?

This is slightly off-topic, but does anyone know whether any of the linksys gigabit models support DD-WRT or Tomato? It sounds like none do.

ok, i lied. its recertified, but ive seen new ones for the same price. just keep your eyes peeled.

i have used one of these with DDWRT for months now. (i think i paid $23 shipped for mine) it has excellent range (200ft in my backyard, router inside the basement. works a treat), rock solid... its every bit as good as a wrt54g except of course it has wireless N. these factory recertified routers are leaps better deals then a $17 wrt54g used- mainly because the only reason this model went recertified was because the power bricks that came with them were under recall. they're new routers with updated power adapters...

Sadly that is incorrect; Tomato will not work on CO based; the revision will not be compatible :(

QFT

I bought a new "fancy" Linksys router a while back and the signal is weaker than my trusty WRT54G was. But the company was paying for my new router so I could do a VPN bridge. Anyway, I had to make some homemade "windsurfer" antenna boosters just to get similar performance as my old WRT54G.

I flashed my old WRT54G to Tomato and have been playing with it. It has some nice features with the original firmware lacked. Like finding other routers, telling you their channel, signal strength, etc. I'd recommend the WRT54G's over many routers.

Are you sure? This link makes it seem like it's supported.
Well I already got my fedex tracking, and est delivery is tomorrow (12/5). Not bad! edit: wrong tracking I looked at. Guess thats what happenes when you go crazy ordering stuff durring the holiday season!

Im gonna try to flash with Tomato, I'll report back.

Got my tracking number morning after I placed order, looks like ground shipping.

So, they're not slow on shipping it seems at least from my end (someone mentioned them taking a while on page 1)

I ordered two as well. $36 for two solid 3rd-party-firmware 32MB RAM routers can't be beat. Sure, it's not N, but where they're being installed, N isn't needed.

I got my tracking # today as well. I didn't check it, but I got it. I also paid $36.36 for two.

I ordered on 03 Dec. and got a tracking number 04 Dec., but it is not active in UPS' system yet.

It can take a day or two for tracking numbers to show up in fedex or ups' systems. Hell USPS can take a week sometimes

I always wanted to play with dd-wrt and my current router is one of those late model linksys with not enough memory to bother trying to load it.

I'm in for one. <$20 shipped can't be beat.
