I have 2 machines having the same problem. Random check disks on startup. Then I get a call from a friend who said his is doing the same thing with an enterprise version of win7. I assume these are RTM. Is there a fix for this?

Don't unplug your machine to turn it off? ;)

But seriously, check your event log for possible hardware failures? Have you seen any pattern to when these ckdsk on startups occur?

I assume these are RTM.
This may drastically hurt your chances of getting help on here, but here goes. If you bought these legally, you shouldn't have any questions as to whether or not you have the RTM version...especially if you are running the Enterprise version.

That being said, depending on how you "obtained" Windows 7, it may be corrupted or riddled with malware. If it is a legit license, I'd start running disk diags, updating chipset and controller drivers, etc.

They were procured by my company before the release so this is why I assume RTM. I have been testing different applications we use. One machine is a desktop and the other is a laptop. The third machine doing this is a friends who is testing at his company. My version happens to be ultimate and his is enterprise. Just wierd how all 3 are doing it. Its not hardware. If you search online there is a lot of ppl having this issue. My system did have a dirty bit I finally got cleared but not sure its gone for good. Just odd.

I had this happen with the RC (as well as an odd bug where explorer would crash but the window would stay visible forever until I rebooted), but I've seen neither since I installed RTM. Are you sure you're not running the RC?
