I'm searching for probably a TN panel mostly for games and some movies. I only have about 200 bucks to spend. From what I've read the samsung syncmaster is a good buy.

Are there any good display review websites now that anandtech's forums are down?

Well,

The ASUS models are rated well for your purposes and are in that price range.

Peace to you,
C. Livingstone

Asus has good colors and fast response times
samsungs are very good quality and fast response certain models
The XL2370 is the best sammy right now, but Asus has little to no lag and good overall performance.
The XL2370 has a cleaner picture IMHO, But is 300.00 and a good Asus is 200.00

I'm a happy owner of the HP 2159m. I wanted a monitor with no silly stuff like vertical tilting or webcam, so I narrowed my candidates down to the 2159m. It goes for $195 shipped:

If you're a fan of pixel density, this is it. With 1080p resolution packed into such a small space, it's over 10,000 pixels / inch^2.

The screen is very bright with excellent color, so much that I had to turn it down to 80% to prevent a UV tan after every use.

I play Crysis+Warhead, L4D, HL2, ARMA 2, and just about every other FPS in existence, and this thing will display at 60 Hz without fault.

If there is only one thing I can say about this monitor, it's the sharp text display that caught my attention.
