win 7 upgrade...$200 from dell...missed upgrade date

I did order a copy of win 7 from dell last nite, they say I can return it, it was expensive....200 bucks...

I am a little pissed, I got the xps system on may 14th, and they are giving free upgrades if you purchased after june 26th

any way to get them to "grandfather" me in to may 14th, when I bought the system?

yah, I was super nice to the person I bought the discs from....and she gave me the vista disks -I should have got them with my xps system- but she sent those as well


so, anyone else have an experience where they "extended" the upgrade date?

They have to have a cutoff date. Thats a month and a half out -- if they extend it for you, then they have to exend it for other people... when do they stop moving it back?
 
That's not how "grandfather" works. Grandfathering is letting you keep a promotion that is no longer available. I suggest ordering it from Newegg for ~$100 if you really want it.

If you knew someone with a valid college email, you could buy it for 29.99$. Can't beat that for a completely new os.
