In Stock 5870's

It may be in there system, but it does not show up online......for the Northern Virginia location.

Northern Virginia location wouldn't even tell me anything about them. Just kept repeating if it wasn't on the website then he knew nothing about it.

I just recently ordered the XFX version from newegg. I kept refreshing the page and it showed up in stock. Well I ordered it and forgot to do next day shipping to get it by Friday. So I decided to order another one and cancel the first order. Once I ordered the second one I went to see the status of my orders and my second one had been voided. So I called newegg and they said that right after I ordered my first one, it went out of stock. With a CC supervisor's help, they are going to next day ship it and I should have it by Friday. NewEgg ROCKS.

Microcenter doesn't have them in their distribution system at the moment, but I guess they got some kind of memo or something that mentioned them. I was told $399 was what they were charging across the board...which isn't terrible or anything, but NewEgg is a bit cheaper.

I wouldn't get those Diamond's since they are priced $20 higher than the XFX and others. Apparently ZZF also has 5850s in stock too.

Seems ZZF has a Diamond in stock. I didn't know Diamond Multimedia was still around...

This is a mistake that they have not fixed. The order will go through but will be on hold until they get them in stock which will be 9/29. I tried the same thing but called support and she checked it for me and called me back saying they are out of stock and shipments won't arrive for them till 9/29.

For anyone who ordered from ncix, they are "90%" sure that more cards will arrive today and ship today or tomorrow.

I bet you that they don't. 5850s aren't supposed to ship out until next week.

Just posted this in the main section so I figure I will put it here..

Newegg has the Asus 5870 in stock. I don't know how many they have so better jump on it while you can. I bet overnight Fed Ex shiping would get to you by Saturday..

Gone.
Check back Tuesday.

I feel for those guys who ordered with ZZF. From most posts, ZZF never had any stock at all and really lead alot of people around by the nose.

At least when the egg has stock it's easy to find.

I agree..one of the problems though with people complaining about ZZF.. people were going directly to the link from google shopping.. when you searched for 5870's on ZZF.. they ALL came up as not in stock.. even the Diamond. For all of those who ordered when they were in stock.. they got screwed.

I didn't think I made the first "20" as I never received the tracking info by 4pm which is normal for me, checked again at 8:30pm and nothing, email came in at 10:30pm, and it showed up by 11am. Full retail package. I also noticed that they received another 20 but there is none in stock now (XFX)

Looks like people are refreshing the page every few minutes trying to get one of these. People seriously want these even at this price. I will be glad to grab one once it gets down to 299

Which brands are the best to buy? Probably the ones with best return policies and longest warranties since the cards are identical. So which ones are those?

There are a couple of ATI partners that are pretty good.

XFX is here in the US, they were exclusive to nvidia until a while ago. They offer a lifetime warranty and also will warranty modificcations, as long as you put the card back to the original before you ship it in.......ie third party air or watercooling and the like.
XFX also has the "double lifetime thing"..........you register on line and if you sell the card later the guy who buys it gets to continue the warranty.

VisionTek is also in the US.............haven't seen them around lately.......they may be out of business.

My next choice would be ASUS.............simply because they are so huge, they aren't going out of business, and they make quality products.......their waranty service is a bit slow but it's still good.

My third choice would be Sapphire...........they have a skimpy warranty, but generally have service through the vendor..........if you buy it from newegg, they handle the warranty problem, and the egg has excellent CS. I've owned a few Sapphire cards, 3870,4870 and 4870 X2; the cards were first rate. Sapphire is the largest vendor of ATI graphics cards.

Considering they are all the same price I'd go for XFX if you are buying now.

+1 (for the HD5850, and almost certainly as an in-store pickup from MC).

Likely Rockville (the odditities of public transit; Rockville costs less to get to, while Fairfax is physically closer and has the lower tax bite, however, I save enough in transportation costs to make up the bite difference).

Speaking of MC, has anyone noticed the rather sudden dip in HD4770/HD48xx prices? And does anyone even remotely think that prices won't continue to drop? (Remember, the HD5850 isn't out yet.)

I wouldnt' buy anything but a 5870 right now, everthing else's prices will fall next week I feel.

Has anyone who bought from TigerDirect/CompUSA/Circuit City received their 5870 yet?

I bought mine last night and happen to ask a rep on whether or not they will be stocking up. The guy told me:

Unfortunately our records indicate that this item is on backorder and is no longer available.

Then I asked if I could get a refund if it wasn't going to be 'available'. Then he said:

Upon checking again our records this item will be available by next week.

So I'm going to have to wait basically two weeks to get my video card. :(

I think we're in the same boat. I ordered a 5870 from Tiger Direct on thursday of last week. I called to check on it today. The guy told me they should have 390 of them coming in some time this week.

Here's the thing though, I read on this site that another person inquired about it on thursday of last week. The rep told him that their 5870's were gonna come in the next day (friday of last week...).

So, at this point I feel like I'm being bs'd around about this. I brought that up to the guy I talked to today and he basically told me I could cancel my order if I wanted to. I'm on the fence here about my next move. I mean I already waited this long. I'd also end up paying sales tax to Newegg and losing my cashback reward.

Oh well, lesson learned.... I guess.

TD better get their shit together or I'll never order from them again! (Like they care:rolleyes:)

Interesting.

I think I am going to keep my order since it'll be $25 less (after cashback that I used) than Newegg. Though if it turns out it won't ship by the end of this week or beginning of next, I'm going to try and cancel it.

If you get any updates on your end, let me know. :)

Ya, I'm gonna probably end up doing the same thing.

And will do.

Let me know if you get any updates also:cool:

To those of you who are considering a purchase from ZZF... check out this reseller ratings page. http://www.resellerratings.com/store/ZipZoomFly Now check out Newegg's. http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Newegg My 5870 was purchased from Newegg on Fri and will be here on Wed according to tracking info.

There are 4 flavors of the 5870 available @ the Egg right now and the price seems to be increasing slightly.

I've never had an issue with ZipZoom and I have been been ordering from them since they were GoogleGear in the early 2000's. I still wouldn't hesitate to order from them and lately they seem to price gouge a lot less than Newegg, especially on hot items like the G2's and the 5870s.

VisionTek is not out of business; however, they have (for some reason) severely chopped back on their shipmennts (two of their major stocking retailers, Best Buy and MicroCenter, are not getting as many cards for in-store pickup as usual). It also does not help that they are also the reseller of ATI-branded graphics cards in the US. (Right now, XFX and Diamond Multimedia are taking up the slack that VisionTek left.)

How's the Gigabyte quality regarding video cards?

I see the Egg has available HIS, ASUS and Gigabyte... trying to decide :D

I've never owned any of the video cards but I do know that they customer support isn't as good as Asus. If I were to choose one from your list, I would get the Asus. Plus you are able to adjust the voltage for higher overclocking. ;)

I emailed their CS again and asked for a refund. Don't want to wait two weeks and stick to using this POS P4 backup setup I have.

They offer a software program that allows you to adjust the voltage so that you can (hopefully) overclock higher than the competition.

However it seems that they are still trying to get the quirks laid out because several users seem to have issues getting over 1.15V.

Gawh, I just bought my XFX on Newegg only to find out that Circuit City now has them in stock. *bangs head*

I shouldn't have canceled my order from yesterday. Stupid karma.

I don't know what customer service is like at the New Circuit City (Tigerdirect in CC costume) but I got a bad Sapphire card and I am glad I'm dealing with Newegg based on past returns and replacements that all went very very well.

Keep the NewEgg XFX good karma

A little update on my situation over at Tiger Direct. I called about it today, and the person I spoke to told me they're not expecting their shipment till next week!

What a bunch of garbage...

Now I'm seriously considering just ordering it from somewhere else.

Tyler_Durden, I ordered mine through Circuit City and it shipped the same day. You might want to try them (even though it's basically the same thing as TD).

You can easily flash the bios of any 5870 to asus which will allow you to use Smartdoctor. Is easily done. Did it on my old 4770's. Takes 5 minutes

Thanks for the heads up!!!

Order with TD = cancelled

Estimated delivery date from Circuit City is tuesday next week. Saved me a little bit of cash too.

Tiger Direct still gets theirs, but I want that damn XFX (and I don't wanna pay tax)

In case anyone was wondering you can get 10.3% cashback through bing at CircuitCity.com

Well, I decided get one instead of waiting for nvidia's answer. I ordered the Sapphire 5870 from Newegg. That card is currently $379. I see the prices are rising already. $379 was the norm, now it's $389 and Amazon is showing $429 marked down to $389 on some models.
