Online matchmaker eHarmony has 20 million members and to manage all that data, they have an amalgamation of four different business intelligence tools that make up their algorithm infrastructure. PC World takes a look under the hood at one of the most popular online matchmaking services, one that leads to 236 marriages per day amongst its membership.

Essas say she likes the "leverage from playing multiple people against each other." He fears that while settling down exclusively with one vendor might initially be a "bargain," it would eventually lead eHarmony to financially "bleed to death in years 2 to 5."

Pretty cool reading especially how google had a hand in the Hadoop loop.

That article is the silliest thing ive read all day.

"Essas' philosophy is interesting because it runs so counter to the site's goals, as a self-declared maker of long-term relationships."

- How the heck can you compare a product to a human relationship? Thats just outright wrong and a such a philosophy adds to why, ironically, e-harmony exists.

eharmony set me up with a psycho, an ex-girlfriend and a first cousin....
my first cousin didn't want to date... so i switched to match.com and met my wife :)
