it appears that the computer sees a signal on the ethernet cable from "osmosis", but i really dont understand how i uses that as a boost for the existing wifi connection... im just generally confused as to whats going on here.

It does work you have to wrap the Ethernet cable very precisely, watch the video again, you have to wrap it exactly how he did or it wont work.

but yeah i know its shit. i think the reason people see an improvement is because the tin foil dish does work and they are too stupid to know what to look for in the network properties pages. i digg this style of comedy though, its basically acute sarcasm.
