One of the baddest PC's I've Ever!

Wow, that is an awesome rig, and the detail, pure beauty right there!

If Im correct this is an update to a system the modder had b4...this guy HAS skills!!!

and apparently more money than brains

but its still a nice rig, wonder if its ever been used, i don't think its possibly to make it look that clean once the fans have been running lol

Those Murderboxes are sweet, but very pricey. Honestly, if I ever won a lotto, Id buy his stuff and never build again. I remember reading some threads, etc, and the builder actually seemed like a pretty cool guy too, so thats always a big +

Yes. The previous version was a Core 2 Extreme I believe. This one has been updated to a Core i7. This is one of the few guys whos build skills I actually envy. He is very good at what he does.

That is one s**t-hot rig! I would love something like that, its so clean and smooth and minimalist, I love it. Black and blue = best colour scheme IMO also.
Not so fussed on the "million dollar" PC tho

I come here every morning to see what's going on and saw this thread title and decided to check it out. It's a great way to start the day, seeing people say nice things about your work - cheers guys! :)

This machine was built for a customer in Frankfurt, Germany and will be crated up and heading off soon. The goal with this build was to pack a ton of stuff into the TJ07 while keeping the upper section clean with all the rads, pumps, etc, down below. There's a full worklog over at XS if you're interested in the details of how it all came together.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say thanks for making my morning guys. :)

Charles h..your work is Outstanding..man the time and detail leave's me breathless..true art :D

Might of been posted before but that's fine by me. Extreme example of perfection when it comes to a mod design. Extremely Clean, I love it.

To me, the best things about the Murder boxes is what you dont notice. I dont see 20,000 neon lights, etc. Theyre just such clean builds. And the first few times you see one, it doesnt really pop out at you, but once you really look close, youre like "Damn, thats some sweet work" Probably IMHO the best looking PC's ever created was a black Murderbox I saw. It was just all fit together so well, all the details were perfect. I mean, read the build thread on some of this guys work, he doesnt miss a thing.
Anyway, off my soapbox :D I just really like the look of this guys stuff.

The cabling is really quite excellent. Though I don't think that alone is what truly sets it apart from other builds.

I agree, the cabling is magnificent, but there is so much more greatness from this build. The craftsmanship of him building the custom parts is a sight to behold. Everything looks professionally done with a lot of attention to detail.

I didn't say the rest of the case is lackluster. I have a thing about cable clutter. The cabling in tandem with the beautiful craftsmanship does make it stand apart from other builds.

Exactly.

It's funny how he doesn't have the SLI bridge fitted in the pics, didn't it fit his colour scheme?

wireless. :p

does anyone know what the blue things in the front are? i dont have a clue, but they look great. also, that thing on the backside of the drive cage, is that a usb hub or something? i cant believe the cabling on there, each usb cable is perfectly placed and of the perfect length. does he do all of his own cabling or something?

Yes he does do his own cabling, you should browse through the build log. The USB hub is for the LCD screens on the side.

why do you say that? i'm sure if he has that much money to spend on parts he must be smart enough at something. i don't think his skyline view condo is too bad either...

The attention to detail is amazing.

edit: Actually looked through the worklog. The process by which it was made is just as amazing as the final result, and includes laser cutting, waterjet cutting, and a porcelain frog.

That mod is very impressive but i think I would have liked to see a few pictures that weren't so artsy. Like the profile shots that all the cases go through on the newegg galleries. Would like to see how it would look on/under a desk while being used (if it is in fact a computer that is put to use).

Awesome detail though

OMG... B-E-A-UUUUTIFUL!!!!!

I so want a Murderbox right now... ='/

charles_h, you're the man!! I was wondering... have you ever thought of building a Murderbox off a Mountain Mods case?? That'd be friggin' sick!!!!

Those are the custom SSD mounts he made with built in illumination. The USB is for the 3 matrix orbital PLED screens he has mounted on the right side of the drive cage and for the Aquaero he mounted at the base of the drive cage facing the motherboard. As badass as this is, I am looking forward to the evolution of the Pure | Murderbox concept come to fruition as a worklog.

Looks nice for liquid cooling. You can actually work inside of it to, unlike those others with messy pipes all over the inside of the case.

yeah thanks for answering my questions. i actually spent like an hour and a half reading the log after i posted that and saw howw he did that stuff. absolutely amazing. i definitely hope to be able to afford to pay that kind of attention to detail someday in a mod(s?).

are you talking about Project: PURE by subset7? i dont know if hes associated with murdermod, and i dont think ive seen any murdermod logos on his thread. however, the attention to detail and the cleanliness of it makes it look like it could be a mudermod. :)

Pure | Murderbox Render 1
Pure | Murderbox Render 2. From what I understand his concept has evolved beyond those renders but I haven't seen anything new that shows what that might be.

having money has nothing to do with having brains, its a great pc but not realistic for most to even care to build id rather pay off a vehicle or make a few extra mortgage payments and put a solid side on the case and call it a day :)

Considering that he made money (and probably a very pretty penny from the looks of it) by building this for someone else, it's safe to assume that whoever is footing the bill is not at all worried about practicality. In fact, this goes way beyond practicality - this is art. Nowadays, anyone can put together a computer, but how many people can really "build" one and do it so gracefully? There's something to be said about the meticulate attention to detail and craftsmanship put into something like this, which not a lot of people can pull off convincingly. Give the guy some credit instead of assuming and bashing his intelligence.

If we can have Lamborghini's and Ferrari's as flashy weekend or special events cars, this computer would be the one to take to LAN fests to really make everyone gawk in envy. :D
