Just a tip - after I entered that I worked with enterprises, I got the following -

Thank you very much for taking the time to speak with us today. Based on your answers, we do not feel this is a good fit for you. We hope that you will consider participating in future studies.

So do be aware of what you put in :).

Each month, you will be asked to keep a blog of your experiences using the new TechNet offering as homework, share your thoughts of what makes it good or bad in an online forum, and answer two short surveys.

I don't mind posting in a forum and answering surveys, but ain't no way I'm gonna blog about it for 3 months lol.

Tried to get in on this.
If you actually work for a software company, you are not eligible.

Hmm Tempting but I think I'll just pay the 250 this year. It will still be cheaper than the copies of Win7 I want to buy. I work for education and that isn't even an option.

Hmm I got it to work but Do I want to commit to it

This works...

-Computer-related products or services
-None of these
-We are a computer support organization (e.g., repair and configure computers, install and support software, etc.)

Haha... my roommate and I sometimes fix computers for friends and neighbors. Most people do pay us even though we don't ask for anything. That's my business. :D Although I probably won't go for this cause I'm no blogger.

huh... during the MS registration process after completing the survey, it will not let you change the country from United Kingdom.

I don't think my address will work for UK :p

wonder if I'll get in trouble if I put in "AK, USA" in the "County" line, since you can't change the Country line

edit: meh, whatever. did it anyway lol

Totally works.

Im in the same boat as gtg465x. Im not a big blogger ethier but I can spew out some crap for a technet subscription.

It asks you to choose near the beginning if you're in the US or UK. I signed up through my UK address, we'll see if I get my media.

huh... I didn't see that option anywhere.

oh well. It apparently went through, and I was able to add the subscription to my existing account and subscription :D

edit: ok, I see where that option was at the very beginning... but I selected US? Or, I woulda swore I did, anyway. Oh well.

I got in, since this is a private version of technet, try to use answers that pertain to small or home businesses.

What is there to commit to really, they aren't asking for your 1st born. Fill out a stupid questionaire, and provide some feedback. Well worth it for having access to almost every MS product. Remember, there is no time limit on the software, so once it is installed it works forever. So if you're the type to install an OS and keep that machine for a long time, this is great.

Wow... that was simple and easy. Currently downloading some clean untouched ISOs of stuff I had in the past from my MSDN sub I let lapse last year... how awesome is that for what, 10 mins of my time.

Thanks OP...

I'm in, and passed. Nice find. I agree with the small business approach. I took the "My wife and I both build pc's for friends" and "I go to their house to fix their issues" approach. But to the survey, this is my business and there are 2 employees.

I finished it. How long did it take to get the email for access?

Damn... had to bite after all. I really hope they don't make me blog much. Added it to my existing TechNet subscription that expires tomorrow.

Well, I see where the issue of UK is now, Its when following the first link in the email after the survey. When entering in the details for shipping, United Kingdom is prefilled and unchangeable.

Very nice OP. Thanks for the linkage. :D

"This concludes our questions. Thank you for taking the time to answer them. You will now receive an email with instructions on registering on the TechNetPlus Pilot website, followed by another mail within 24 hours with instructions on logging into the ITAC site where you will register your feedback. You will need to log into the ITAC site within 24 hours of receiving that mail in order to successfully start the program. As soon as you have done that, your free TechNet Plus subscription will begin and you will be eligible for the raffle drawings.

Welcome, and congratulations on joining the TechNet Plus Pilot Program!

The TechNet Plus Pilot Program Team"

my technet is expiring this week. nice. i was hoping for a $99 deal, but this will be even better if it works out.

Yeah, I noticed that also. It's download only, so it shouldn't matter.

Downloading WHS now.

wow, thanks! just completed the survey. This will save me about 250$ i was almost ready to pull the trigger on a tech net sub. Thanks OP!

For those wondering it's about the consumer, and keep your business a small concern.
Then you should be in like flint:D

awesome. i did it. took like 8 tries. it kept trying to tell me i wasnt eligible. bs. i made myself eligible. i can blog its all good

i guess at the end when it asks to send you the software, it does force you to keep it at united kingdom. i just put USA in the county section :D

Like many here, this came in just in time to replace my sub from last year. :) Thanks, OP!

LOL - I did the same thing

I was originally going to mess my info in it(seeing how I'm generally paranoid about on-line anything), but I went the honest route, and gave real answers.

I'm in. ;)

i kept mine pretty real too. all my info is real. i will be giving real feedback too, so its not like this is a totally free deal.

win7 all around the house come fall!

i forgot about server2008 too... i guess i can put that on my xp server....
