Just ordered the Dell UltraSharp 2209WA

My refurb 2209WA just arrived today.

Instantly I could tell the color differences, specially since my 2253BW had an intense blue dominance. I'm in love with this stand, my Samsung one was so rigid and too low for me, never had a stand this adjustable, I love it.

Unfortunately I have a stuck pixel, it's a very light shade of green it looks, not black, so it's not dead. I'm sure this is the reason it was returned in the first place.

Gunna try to run UDpixel on it while I'm at work later.

If not, then I'll most likely RMA it for another, I think with my last Samsung 2253bw I've learned to not try and live with these miner defects. Plus why not, it's free and I wont have to send this one out till the other arrives.

hey folks, just got my refurb today as well; everything's great, no defects as far as I can tell. it does get a little hot, but doesn't seem to be unreasonable.

haven't calibrated it yet but at least the viewable angles really kick ass :)

guys can u help me? i cant get my monitor to show an image in DVI-d mode?? only vga. i wonder if the cable this came with is broken?

Did you hit the cable input button on the bottom right hand side of the lcd?

I'm seriously toying with the idea of returning my S2209W and getting one of these. I really do like the wider layout of the of S2209W, but the color inconsistency from top to bottom is getting on my nerves. I made it on 1680 x 1050 all these years, I suppose it won't kill me to go back.

There's only one thing holding me back though--I'm considering maybe purchasing another 360 to hook up to my computer monitor. Does the 360 output in 1680 x 1050 now? I seem to remember reading somewhere that it now supports the 16:10 resolutions.

Sweet fedex has my monitor coming on friday after ordering tuesday night. Good to hear mostly good things on the refurbs so far hopefully mines turns out good and i'll probably get some pics up.

glad everyones works but mine. seems like the dvi port it burnt out. im going to try a diff cable later today

This isn't good... :(

I don't see anymore 2209WAs listed in the Outlet today. This really sucks, as I was planning on ordering today since my previous order should credit back today or tomorrow.

Am I missing something here? If I wanted to try to get a deal on a new one (even though they are backordered), who would I need to call? I get an EPP discount if that matters...

Just received my 2209WA, £185 in the UK with 3 years next-day cover for any dead/lazy pixels.

No issues at all on delivery, other than it being brighter than the sun.

Got a PM asking where I got it from for £185, which is the lowest price in the UK I have seen.

Was from http://www.pcbuyit.co.uk but quoted their ebay prices over the phone and gave it to me for that,

ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brand-New-Del...14&_trkparms=72:1690|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318

Currently at £184.

Hope that helps someone.

does anybody have problem with usb port on the side? for some reason its not working

Meant to post this earlier, but do you get any display at all (@ POST, etc.), or does it just drop the signal when you get into Windows?

USB hub - use the included USB cable to attach it to your PC. Good/easy place to plug in various USB devices.

Sounds like either the cable or your monitor input is 'dead' :\. I asked because I had to tackle monitor driver issues using Vista, even though my previous monitor was also 1680x1050 - I'd get no signal after Windows had booted. Reinstalling video drivers forced Vista to reset my resolution/refresh rate.

On the plus side, I reported mine for having a ton of stuck pixels yesterday, and I'm staring at a 'brand new' refurb as we speak - they're pretty quick :).

well for one i didnt get no usb cable but i sure any work. but jsut tried 2 diff cables so looks like i need to rma. do i call or send an email?

My friend is not happy with his refurb. He says it has a yellow ting to it and it wouldn't go away. Also it has dark spots on it. He called Dell to get a replacement and was told that they couldn't give him a replacement, he would have to return this one and order another one. I think that is total BS. Has this happened to other people, is this Dell's normal policy? Is their any Dell agent that I should speak with, anyone that has been cool with hardforum customers in the past? Something doesn't seem right here...

Wow Fedex and dell decided to ship the monitor a day earlier expected so i can home with it sitting infront of the door. Hooked it up and did some pixel test and NONE at all, backlight bleed i would say is minimal to none but im no expert. Overall I'm impressed with this 22" and glad zod96 pointed it out to me. I'll probably check some settings on here and mess with it so far picture is fine with me.

Yeah sometimes you get a good refurb sometimes you don't. My friends is pretty jacked up, and now they wouldn't exchange it, only return it and buy another one. And if he can't find another 10% coupon well that just sucks...

FYI I just spoke with a DELL rep named Destinee Allen at phone 512-946-0559. She's selling the 2209WA for $212 with free shipping....

wtf my dvi port doesnt even work im not buying another one im getting a replacment or i SUE

Just call. There was absolutely no hesitation on the part of the rep I spoke to, and within 24 hours I had a (perfect, I might add) replacement. Their stock may be low, though - none are listed @ Outlet last I checked.

Got my refurb 2209wa and love it :) Thanks to the posters that posted thier calibrated settings it gave me a good place to start. Has anyone had experience using a huey to calibrite this monitor?

just ordered a new one for 212. just checked the my order status and it's gone from "in process" to shipped within the last hour! hurrah!

How the heck did you get it so quick new I mean? I ordered before you and mine still says like 5-18-09 for delivery, are you in the USA?

Wooo hoooo!!

Just snagged one for $212 after chatting with someone in Dell's Small Business dept. I tried a few times before that on the phone and on chat in the home and business deptartments, but none of them could do the $212 pricing. Looks like it has to be someone from SMB.

I got it in the form of a quote since my wife currently has the payment method. :) Will be placing the order this evening it appears.

Mine finally shipped - my original order was placed on April 7th. Guess they got a new shipment in. They're probably processing in a FIFO fashion so those who just ordered might have to wait a bit too.

Nice. Mine from the 15th is still in process along with the one I ordered on the 22nd.

ETA: Scratch that. I got the ship notification for both orders at 1 and 3 am. As someone else posted it appears their shipment came in and they are shipping FIFO.
