From reading EVGA forums it seems the release date has leaked. March 11th according to this post. Get your left hand ready for F5 bashing, your right trigger finger ready for the fast click and your bank account for a big hit. Some say upwards of $450 and as low as $400.

i bet it wont be 400 on release... infact i bet newegg puts it up for like 500 bux just to milk it...

not that i care anyway, paying over 300 bux is insanely retarded for a x58 motherboard, yet alone paying over 400

What does the EVGA X58 Classified offer that the other X58 motherboards doesn't?

I know it has this really kick-ass red / black look, and a awesome layout, and what must be one of the biggest (yet darn beautiful) north-bridge heatpipe..

But how come it will be sold at $400-450? Is really adding the black / red look that expensive? Or does it offers something that the other X58 doesn't?

It has the nF200 chip, which really hasn't impressed me much as overall there is simply no noticeable difference between 16x / 16x / 16x and 16x / 8x / 8x, not to mention barely anyone run or god the need for TriSli anyway?

Does it feature Digital-PWM or something? How many phases?
There should be something really kick-ass with this board, making it crush every other X58 board currently on the market when considering the really poor and cheap controllers on this board, not to mention the price-tag?

This board is for those who have more money than brains. If you want the red/black theme then buy the Foxconn Bloodrage. Sure it only has 3 ram slots, but tell me honestly that you need more than 6GB of memory. Yeah yeah sure there are SOME that need more than 6GB of memory, but not many. Also if you think you need Tri-SLi then I think you need therapy. In this recession there are MANY more things you could spend your money besides a goddamned gaming motherboard. Jesus.

But some people needs to buy stuff to so the recession dont go to deep, or deeper than it already are. Stop doing things you normally do are the worst thing in this case and just make this grow bigger than it needs to be.
This recession could have been stopped way before it got outoff hand and effected rest of the globe but the political price would have been high on the homeplane to fix the tiny little thing that triggerd it and at least the financial part of it would have been stopped and things would have been mutch mutch better and easyer to deal with than two major things like now that affect just about the whole globe and everybody wait for someone else to start buying things before they do it and it is a standstill until those who not are stupid start doing bussines as usual again and get the wheels to roling again.

Yes, it does have a 10 Phase Digital PWM. It has Dual 8 pin power connectors for improved power delivery for overclocking. It also has the ability to allow you to disable each PCI-E slot individually using jumpers so that you dont have to take the cards out if you run into problems. This makes it easier for water cooling. It will also have a little cable and controller board that gives you the ability to adjust voltages on the fly as well as do things like disable the PCI-E Slots, read temperatures, postcodes, reset and clear cmos and power on the board. In the even that you're running 3 way SLI and are running it on a bench. :)

Also, this board is supposed to have more gold in the socket which is supposed to provide for more durability and overclockability at high load temps.

This board also has a BIOS mode that is specifically designed for subzero temperatures and benching in order to improve overclock stability in the bios and beyond. There are alot of features on this board that the other board does not have, and im sure you will all see the final revision soon enough. :)

I'm sorry but this mainboard is red and black Bullschizzle.......about none of the things you mentioned mean jack-shit to most people.........and I guarantee neither you nor I would understand the nuance of the BIOS selections..........there are some engineers that won't. Oh yeah......I usually use my $450 MB in sub-zero temperatures.........come on.
Plus add in the price tag.........the only thing that is appealing to the drooling fanboys is the red and black color, the glowing red fan thingy and the fact it will "look cool" with Dominator GT Ram.

I was astounded over at EVGA that there was a 45 page thread trying to guess the release date.........the same 12 guys over and over again........jesus save me.

I suppose I should make a bit of a qualifier here.
I got nothing against the RussianHaxor, he's actually a very nice gentleman over there at EVGA.
and..........I have the EVGA X58 SLI MB and it's one of the best if not the best MB I've had.

But..........the guys over at EVGA forums are just way over the top, drooling daily about a MB that they nor I could ever understand the full potential of.
This thing is a benchmarker's delight, but I would guess the majority of people wouldn't ever use the special jumpers, detachable PCB reader board, the voltage adjusters, OR have the bucks to invest in a PSU with dual functioning 8 pin power.....(or maybe they would)
Honestly, if you don't have quad SLI and an i7 965 over there you are a punk. Enthusiast has a totally different meaning........and it isn't what I think of first........

just a rant......

I think some people are missing the point of this board. This board is basically intended to satisfy the overclocker market. I would never suggest someone buy this board if they are going to just run stock... thats what the other board is for and even that board is great for overclocking. This board is just another movement towards the extreme overclocking pathway. And everything about this board shows that. It would be a shame to buy this board and NOT overclock it.:) Either way, some people get extremely excited about certain products and do go nuts... but if you check out XS alot of those guys over there plan on getting this board because they LOVE to oc.:D

edit: added note, the thing with this board is that it has alot of features that NONE of the other boards out there have and that's why i really love this board so much. There are so many features you just don't see out there and the innovation of the engineering team is what makes me so excited. Not to mention i love and live by Digital PWMs.

You forget where you are? These are "HARDFORUMS", yes meaning we like our hardware no matter if it's not the best bang for the buck, but for the technology.

So quit implying that if we decide the purchase this product, then we have more money than brains. I don't, but I still want this board. Doesn't mean i'm gonna buy it right now, but I like the technology, and the looks.

Well,
maybe I missed the boat and fell right in the water...........
but I thiught the idea of enthusiast was to kick up the OC so you could squeeze every Hz out of affordable equipment........making it behave like the expensive stuff you can't afford.......
Not to spend $450 on a MB and $1000 on a CPU so you can say you hit 4.6 GHz.
(maybe I'm all wet......)

Read what I wrote..........the second time.
I do have brains, just no money.:D

Unfortunately, some people will blow a grand just to get a 500mhz higher OC on their CPUs.... Its hard to justify in such a community but it happens and its part of the industry so i guess there isn't much you can really do about it. Some people will buy this board because it gives them higher clocks than another guy on the same forums he seems to be competing with. We just have to remember that people don't always act in the most rational ways when it comes to their computers or overclocking...

Cool. I'll be in for one. And to piss the jealous people off bashing a niche product, I'll be sure to pickup a few kits of domminator GT ram while I'm at it, so it can "match".

This economy needs us to spend, so I will use that excuse :p

Not jealous.
Just can't get my head around this whole concept.
I have some socks that would go with the Dominator GTs..........what's your address???;)

Depends, if they are cotton and fit size 15 feet then I'm game :p

Either way, people spend money on stupid things, and stupid has a perspective. It's all in how you look at it. I have a friend who spends boatloads of money on his chopper, another on his gf, I prefer to have the latest computer goodies instead.

And saving money is a great concept, however, spending also in this time is a even better concept. Right now prices are low all across the board, where I would have spend money on SSD's or memory before can now be pushed into a fancier motherboard.

Besides, you have not seen my galaxy collection have you? I have this thing they call SOS (Shiny Object Syndrome). To each his own IMO.

it's also to push the top of the line so far past that stock can't catch up for 2 years.

:)

the things you could get for $400... i guarantee you, that you would enjoy them more than this motherboard.

i think its just got to the point where this shits gotten so expensive that its past the point where people are jealous and just laugh at the price tag. i'll just get one once they bring out a new revision and they're clearing out the old ones for half the price.

People will always be jealous. They don't want to be called out for it, or they want the luxury of deniability, but it's there in off-hand passive aggression. Just have to smile and remember that they have absoultely no bearing on you or your purchasing decisions, or what you simply drool over. I'll be buying this board because I have the money, a 920, need a 1366 mobo, and I'm seriously considering investing in some WC that'll last me half a decade or so. That's enough reason for me. I could go with a vanilla x58 but this is more fun for me.

Everyone just needs to chill and not freak out about other people's decisions.

I already did my "spending" last month when i bought 3 gtx285s, 3 waterblocks, and a new 1050w psu :) Must pay bills before upgrading again.

The regular X58 board has the "Extreme Cooling" option too. I'm not sure on the details and if it's exactly the same as the Classified's, but I know it's in there...

I have a hunch it will only be on the 16th as it's a big release date for many vendors.

Hopefully today, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

few more hours. either 10am or 12 noon edt. one of the techs on the evga chat said that 2 new products would drop today. "something we had never seen". so with the 1200w 120amp evga psu not coming until q4, maybe we will see an evga case, or sound card. maybe some kind of media extender.

Nah... its not that. :p

Also, i will post up links in here when something does happen.

Check it out. :)

I don't know why people are crying about this board and it's price tag. If you don't need the features or can't afford it, you have the option of not buying it. Jesus Christ. Do you guys cry when Ferrari releases a new niche car and you can't afford it?

This is high end equipment, of course it will be specialized and expensive.

I have noticed, can't really do much on the site :( I gave up on the video loadage.

Yeah, i guess we'll have to wait til later today when the load relaxes and they can fix the site. Because literally everything went nuts, not just the forums.
