Cooler Master RC690 Gallery

Damn man that sucks.:(

Mines came fine for me, UPS looks like they where playing soccer with it before it got delivered with yours.

Well I got home and took a closer look at it. What can I say but a true testament to the quality of the product made by CoolerMaster. There was not a scratch on this thing. Looking at what it went through to get to me shows this.

Kudos to CM!

Hopefully the rest of my system will arrive intact tomorrow and I can have some fun this weekend.

Edit, apparently images weren't working. Fixed that. Also I need to do a lil more work on my cable management at looking at the second pic.

Does the wires from the PSU fit through the hole(hole where the cables route to the back of the case) or did you have to do some cutting on the hole to make it bigger?

Anyone else with the same PSU and case?

I had to extend the hole that was there by about 2 inches. I used a dremel took about 10 mins to cut and then I sanded it down to smooth the edges out. The HX 1000 cables will not fit through it unless you extend the hole. It was the only modification I had to make the case to get everything to fit properly. This case is amazing with a ton of room, and easy cable management. I will have to update the picks later but I made some changes and cleaned it up better.

I only payed $35 bucks for it and I am glad I did. The only complaints I have is that it case doesn't have a smooth finish. At a right angle in the light you can see little bumps all over the place. And some the screw holes aren't the proper size and the screws that come with it are cheap. I nearly had to cut some out with my dremel because they would not catch on the thread.

Can do. I'll take a shot of it later for you.

Didn't like the cheap look of the Sunbeam fan controller so I modded one of my spare 5.25 drive covers and some updated pics with the accelero.

Hmm, thanks for the idea on the fan controller as I have the same one.

Did my build a few months ago but, never got around posting it. Love this damn case until this day - very simple yet functional case.

lol. I'll have some pics in a couple of days when I put in my cold cathodes. Its basically just mounted there using the bottom intake mount. The mount just slips into the drive bays perfectly. I trimmed a little off of it and cut the little tabs on the front panel so it can snap back into place easily.

EDIT -

More pics of my rig again. Made some small changes, added some cold cathodes, fans grills, made a template for the front intake fans to make them perfectly circle and took off the front Cooler Master logo. I'm getting tired of how the led fans look so I have some non-led yates coming next week(the front led fans are staying).

if anyone's front panel likes to pop off to easily, you can use some fan screws to screw into the mounting tabs once installed. Front panel becomes locked in place till the screws are removed. ( I can take some picks if necessary )

Did you have to cut anywhere to give the PSU more breathing room.. I found that my 1000HX ran way hotter in my case then my old 750TX. And I sort of just assumed it was because part of the intake fan is now being blocked

I would definitely either flip that or cut a bigger hole.

I really don't understand why they don't include a dust filter for the PSU. It's like a vacuum cleaner.

It's nice to see someone use the Antec Signature PSU. JonnyGuru says its the best performing PSU he's ever tested.

Hey roccer, what kind of desk chair are you sportin' there? That thing looks crazy comfortable.

Well I finally got some shots of my new system. Unfortunately I am having to RMA the motherboard because of a defective sound device.

But here are a few pics of it before taking that out.

I finally got my 690 on tuesday...and proceeded to tear it down so I could paint it. I've been really impressed with the painted cases that have been posted. I think it makes the case look much classier, especially with a windowed side panel. I ordered the CM panel from the 'egg cause I like the mesh over the side fan a lot better than the holes on the stock panel. I have 2 dogs, so keeping the dog hair out is a priority to me. ;) I'll post some pics once I get it all back together...

Yellow? Green? And Blue?

What are you doing?

And a blue pcb for the motherboard?

But the paint does look really good gratz on that.

maybe you could try it and i just noticed the red ati card, im keeping my eyes open for purple in the there! haha, im jusst messing with you dont take persoanl

it reminds me of a poisonous frog, but it looks really really good

Very nice case's you guys have. I ordered one it will be here tuesday. I hope mine turns out as nice some of yours.

Pics of my new RC690...it's my first time posting pics, so I hope this works.

Can you use a Cooler Master Hyper 212 and still fit in a side fan?

Probably not in the top fan slot on the stock side panel. My Xigmatek HDT-S1283 is a about the same height and it is pretty close to the side panel. I have my top two fans as intakes and the rear as an exhaust, and I get plenty of airflow across my heatsink with that setup.

Just picked up my CM690 @ Fry's yesterday for $69.99.

Stripped bear last night and going to be painting this weekend. :)

You guys that are painting your cases. are you using a special type of paint or just regular krylon or rustoleum? Also, are you using a primer first?

i just ordered this case with the hx1000 psu. I know there is a grill on the bottom underneath where the psu sits but I'm guessing since this psu is longer than normal part of the grill will be covered up. Could i flip the psu upside down without any concerns?

To the above...

rustoleum Primer and Dark Grey for my case. 2 cans of each cost me like $12 bucks at Home Depot. I'll post pics once I'm done. :)

But it is possible to use the top side fan or with that xigmatec it's impossible?
