That's quite a nice setup, I hope to get the Norco 4020 once the funds come in for this damned expensive hobby. ;)

nice Hardigg enclosure! a little more portable and durable than a full 42u server rack, good idea..

I made some update. I change the case. For better cooling and more space for HD.

Enjoy

Also shown, 2x 500gb LaCie externals and a 1TB LaCie external

Wow... I've posted about 3 times without pics! And I keep meaning to, then forgetting! Holy crap I'm slow :p

Well, here they are, not to disappoint (unless you had high standards ;)):

And a "df -ha" for the space. RAID is /dev/sda1, and the filesystem is XFS (since df doesn't show that):

Specs are in my sig. Yes, the date on the camera is wrong, I took those pictures about 5 minutes ago :p

1 how much does that norco weigh with all those drives?
2 how does whs know which bay the drives are in?
3 what controller is that?
4 holy shit im jealous.

I can now answer your question #1..

I was moving the server to a new shelf thingy I got at Wal-Mart and while moving it.. why not weigh it? Depending on how it's seated on the (craptastic) scale, it's between 49-51lbs.

Here is my server (colo'd). These are some old pics since now it has jerry rigged ARC-1231ML in it and the upper left 3.5 inch bays now are 2.5 inch hot swap bays for some SSD's I will be adding in the future.

Right now it is 8x750 GB in raid5. Storage capacity = 5.25TB:

Mythbox, 8x500 GB (raid5), total storage capacity 3.5TB:

Desktop use system/main storage box. 20x1TB (raid6) 18TB useable:

houkouonchi, specs of systems?

Colo box is:
2U supermicro (CSE-825TQ-560LPB)
Core 2 quad q6600 2.4 Ghz
8GB DDR2-800 memory
8x750 GB seagate 7200.11 drives (raid5)
ARC-1220 (screenshot) but now ARC-1231ML
Onboard graphics

Mythbox is:
Cooler master CM stacker Case
Core 2 duo E6850 3 Ghz
4GB DDR2-800 Memory
Promise EX8350 Raid Controller
8x500 GB 7200.10 seagate drives (raid5)

Home box is in my sig:
NORCO RPC-4020 Case
MSI P6N SLI Platinum (nforce 650i) Mobo
MSI Geforce gtx 260 (pic has an 8800 gtx)
8GB DDR2-1000 g.skill ram
ARC-1280ML raid controller
20x1TB Seagate SATA (raid6)

What's the reason for having it colo'd? Just wondering.

I run a bunch of game servers on it. Also not shown in the photographs but it now has 4 network links which means 400 megabits of internet connectivity. There is no way I could ever get that at home. Also due to certain circumstances I get free colo, so why not? I used to have a 1U server with 2x500 GB drives (no redundancy) but I wanted something redundant so I upgraded it to 2U with raid.

How do you get free colo?
