Is my Q6600 too hot? Speedfan readings

I must've applied a lot. I guess i'll try the 2 half line method (the very last 2 pictures). Oh man, that means that i'm gonna have to disconnect everything, including the mobo since the Xig is too big that it tucks underneath the Antec case:(.

well, that depends. I also have an Antec 900. Which way is the cooler facing? Is the fan blowing air from front-to-back (or vice versa) or down-to-up (or vice versa)? In my case, I have only expansion card plugged in, it's my video card. If I remove the video card from the case, I can remove one side of the Xigma's rubber fan grips, and from there I can reach all 4 screws on the retention bracket. I believe the only way you can install the Xigma that would force you to remove the entire motherboard is if you faced it to where it was blowing air straight to the bottom of the case, which would make the fan right below the 200mm Big Boy case fan.

I didnt know that you can have the heatsink turn 90 degrees? I wonder which one is more effective? I can remove the video card fine but the Xig will have to be moved out sideways and there is not enough space between the heatsink and edge of the case. Get my drift?

If the videocard weren't there, would you be able to get in with a pair of needle-nose pliers and remove the two rubber fan grips from the heatsink on that side? If the NB fan isn't in the way and you can remove the top and bottom rubber grip on that side, you can slide the fan off to the right and undo the screws on the retention bracket. If not, then :(

By the way, if your Xigma fan is blowing through the heatsink and into that rear exhaust fan, you have the heatsink facing the best way for optimal airflow.

I've got mine turned sideways and it seesm to be doing fine. But it looks like your NB heatsink would be in the way on yours.

Which fans are exhaust and which are intake? You could probably improve your temps by rotating your Xigma so that it blows air towards that exhaust fan in the back of the case, rather than upwards, as long as there is an intake at the front of the case blowing cool air towards the Xigma.

Both of the tops fans and the rear fan are exhaust. There's a side panel fan above the GPU and one in front of the hard drives that are intake.

These seem really high to me. My computer has changed locations and went on a few car trips in the past couple months, could that have slightly unseated my heatsink or something?

Stock cooler + Q6600 = BAD

Wow, you need to reseat that cooler stat.

No could about it. Something got messed up, bad. You should fix that as soon as you get back to the PC.
 
reseating the heatsink, now my idle is around 45-47C, and after 30 minutes of prime95, max temps seems to be around 72-75C. does that sound about right for a q6600 at stock speeds with heatsink and fan?

Still sounds pretty high, but I don't know for sure because you're using the stock HSF. What thermal compound did you use, and how much did you use?

Still using the stuff that came with the stock HSF, when i reseated it i didn't add or change it
 
Always. When you remove the old compound, use Isopropyl Alcohol 70%+. Make sure you get all of the compound off both the CPU and heatsink, otherwise your temps could suffer.

I actually have the same case and was able to get the hsf to fit the other way even with two top fans.
