Fallout3/Dead Space/Farcry2 which platform?

PC versions always unless they have some weird DRM. Then if PC version has invasive DRM then i buy USED copy of console game :)

It's an FPSRPG. There's an over-the-shoulder third-person cam, but it's primarily an FPSRPG.

It was leaked some number of days ago.
it seems pretty silly to talk about playing an illegal copy of the game doesnt it?

I figured linking to it or telling people where to find it(cept on a forum like this everyone already knows anyway) was against the rules.

Your aiming skills are going to have nothign to do with the game unless you have stat points. It's an RPG. It's nothign to do with twitchin or your skill as a person.

I am torn myself...I really want dead space but can't make up my mind as to which platform. PC/Headphones or LCD/Surround Sound. Not sure which one would be scarier.

Neo

I will go PC for all three

However, I will probably have to use a gamepad for deadspace as reviews here in the UK report that the mouse/keyboard controls are REALLY poor..... PC Zone rated the game at 81% with all good points except mouse control which they describe as "dogshit".

Apparently even the menus are next to impossible to control with the mouse....

Do you need "aiming skills" for Fallout 3? Not necessarily, if you manage your V.A.T.S. points so conservatively that you're making rolled targeted shots at all times (which, as I understand it, isn't really feasible), but the combat is primarily real time. Ergo, you need to at least aim at your targets...in the first person perspective. FPSRPG ;)

Unless I'm just absolutely mistaken here...

Looks like they're pulling a resident evil: Adhere to a slightly difficult control scheme to increase difficulty.

For Dead Space, i'd go with the 360 since its more of a survival horror in 3rd person, and i think you'd get a much better feel for it on a controller over a keyboard and mouse...

Dead Space for 360 since for me, i thin kthe controller is better for survival horror.

Plug your gamepad into your PC.

Maybe I just have a different take on what a FPSRPG is. I mean aiming at something and it doing a "behind the scenes" roll doesn't make ita fps at all to me. FPSRPG is to me is System Shock 1 and 2, Deux Ex, or mildly MILDLY Bioshock. I know what your saying and understand you got to put basically a giant reticle in the general area of what you want to hit.

OK I'm nitpicky :D

I'll be grabbing all 3 on the 360. Really, if I can play it on the Xbox 360 anymore, I do, and if it only comes out on the PC, then that's where I play it. Just a matter of where most of my friends are playing their games.

Over the shoulder is third person NOT first person.
Are you kidding? Didn't I say...

Read, then post.

Yeah, but my understanding is that there's no hit/miss rolling involved in non-V.A.T.S. mode, save for damage calculations and so forth. When you aren't in V.A.T.S., you're shooting in real-time, and there's some stat checking going on, but you're still very much aiming at targets and shooting them. Judging from some of the gameplay videos, it seems like there's some leeway/autoaim action happening there (perhaps X360-only), but it's still fundamentally an "aim at target and shoot" type deal. V.A.T.S. is there when you want to throw out the player skill component entirely.

I did some searching and really couldn't find a clear, concise answer to this one, so I don't know what to say here. If I had the leak, I'd hop in and check it out, but I don't.

I get all my Multiplatform games on PC.

and exclusives like GT5P and LBP for PS3

But If you can shoot things in first person (along with in third person)...

...What else would it be?

That is a fairly stupid excuse since you can sell PC games.
to individuals maybe and even then they have to worry if you exceeded the the install limit or some other DRM issue. places like EB games and such dont buy pc games because of the serial number or DRM issues.

PC // PC // PC

4th game I'm looking forward to is Fable 2 (360), which I have already pre-ordered.

Not really. Very few PC games allow you to resell them, especially with installation limitations put in by DRM, or CD-Keys that can not be reused. I have a number of PC games here that I'm stuck with. I don't want them, don't need to replay them, but can't sell them.

well f3 and dead space is not a MP game right?

guess u guys will re track your statement saying you would get fc2 on pc now unless you love DRM and that 5 install limit

There's always the mind rending conundrum of deciding whether it'd be better to play an FPS on a Gamepad or with a mouse and keyboard.

This simple choice has driven sane men mad and mad men sane. It even lead me to a breakthrough where I saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by not having any at all!

Jail isn't as bad as they make it look on TV.

Jail is a luxury. Jails in the UK have 360/ps3 consoles, swimining pools, sky tv ie satalite/cable tv.

its more like a 5 star hotel but getting back to the point. fps on a joypad is really not that bad once u get use to it

Oh I'm sure alot of us started out on gamepads with FPSs(Doom on SNES and a Microprose game on Genesis that I can't remember the name of). Its hard to switch once you've gotten used to one of them.

I'll buy Fallout 3 on 360 and Farcry 2 on PC. Probably will pass on Dead Space.

If people start modding Fallout on PC I'll probably pick that version up after I get the achievements on the 360 version.

I am picking up the latest games but have run into a dilema, I'm sure most of you who own multiple consoles and a pc are facing, which platform to buy the games for? I have a great PC with a 37" monitor and I have a great home theater with 61" dlp etc etc

I have been leaning towards the 360/ps3 for dead space and fallout3 and the pc for farcry 2 (because i prefer mouse/keyboard with fps)

What are you gonna get and why? Thanks

PC/360/PC.

If you have a PC that can get you an equal or greater visual experience, why would you want to play on the console??

Fallout 3 is a shooter/RPG. 100% PC game.

Dead Space will look better on the PC, but you might benefit from better controls on the console. Dead Space is actually a good candidate for a game rental as opposed to a purchase.

Far Cry 2 is a shooter. It's supposed to be chugging along at 30fps on the Xbox360, and will probably be the same on the PS3. The PC version will look better, run smoother, AND it'll have better controls.

PC...

Remember the no dumb questions, just dumb people quote?

Come on, this is the [H], PC lovers abound.

There are some games that are on both the PC and the Xbox and one version sucked. One that comes to mind is Knights of the Old Republic 2 on the Xbox. I played that on the PC and it felt very clumsy, almost like it wasn't supposed to be played on a PC.

Are these games being made for both console and PC, or is it being made for one and ported to another?

I will be buying FarCry 2 and Fallout 3 on PC. Not picking up Dead Space right now but if I do down the road it will also be for the PC.

For some reason I like horror survival games better on console. So, 360 DeadSpace for me!

Fallout 3 = PC
Far Cry 2 = PC
Dead Space = 360 (Already have).
