I am L M M F A O.

I just picked one of these up for a cheapy back up, till I spend $4-500 to feed my 24 incher, and it's a damn good card.

Without a doubt, the best $50 bucks I have spent on ANY type of computer equipment in a long time AND I haven't even OC'd it yet.

Amazing.

A few on FS/FT I'm sure you could get for $50 (or maybe less) if you don't want to fool with rebates.

I got the 9600gso for my quad setup 3.3 oc'd it works pretty good on my samsung 26" lcd.

Cod4, CSS....high settings. 1920 x x1200.

The 9600gso dual slot is the better ver. better cooling for overclockin. Got mine running at 650mhz core 919mhz memory oc'd.

its not a 24/7 gaming machine. :p

Check here Only dumb thing about it is that it is after a MIR...
I haven't had trouble with TD rebates, but I was a little disappointed that the rebate in that link wasn't an evga manufacturer's rebate.

evga pays rebates very quickly and i've never had a hassle. My last $100 rebate check for a G92 8800GTS 512MB ($99AR) arrived less than 4 weeks after mailing it in. Other ones I sent were also paid quickly.

I concur, however, I had this one problem where i recived an email sayin that my upc was invalid and I like WTF! ($50) + luckliy I made a copy of the rebate (whew) I call them the next day and the lady was really really nice in handling the problem. It was a mistake (so they said) after less than 8 mins she said that she will prioritize this rebate as quickly as possible.....W00T! (this rebate was for a 8800gts ssc (not g92) $99 AR...sold off on ebay for $250:p last week.)

The lowest rebate is Antec. Kworld's are scam. Diamond's ...i dunno yet.

Is the single slot 9600GSO loud? I know that's subjective but in your own personal opinion y/n? The fan on my 7600GT had a distinctive lawnmower WHIRRRR and I replaced that with a zalman.

both single and dual slot are almost soundless at 50%

if the fan speed is set 75% ->100% then it is loud. I use rivatuner to control my fan speed and to overclock the card.

QFT ... I thought the deal was so hot I bought two. So it was the best $72 after rebate and coupon that I've ever spent on hardware.

Sounds like a great way to get a machine running fast for cheap. Too bad SLI requires Nvidia chipsets, ATM.

I bought one of these cause the ram on my 1900XTX was shot. Compared to the 1900XTX, even at 100% the GSO is silent to me lol.

I got my 8800GS for 90$ with COD4 bundled, so basically 40$, a few months ago. It's a damn nice card, especially for lower resolutions. I'll definitely be keeping it for awhile.

That's not the standard 9600GSO is a 768MB card from palit. But, yeah on world in conflict in particular it seems to test lower, but again for what its worth you can clock it up to GT speed with less than 3C difference in temp change.

So upgrading my brothers computer from a 7800GT to this, for the price, is a no brainer then?

The way they arranged the nomenclature with the 8800's and 9xxx series has always confused me a little.

Will this card run well with a corsair 430w psu? I just have one hard drive and one pci card installed with my q6600.

edit:
I just need a hdcp card for my HTPC than can run C&C Red Alert 3

Yeah. I had an 8800GS (same card as the 9600GSO) with an Antec TPT 430W with an overclocked Q6600, a couple of hard drives and other stuff. The 430W was still good enough when I upgraded to a 9800GTX.

Thanks. I ended up doing ebay with live cashback for about the same price because I hate rebates and tigerdirect

Hmm it looks like its time to upgrade the backup computers card. And this will do nice.

I'm running an overclocked Phenom, full-size mobo, two 7200 RPM drives and a 4850 with a Corsair 450W PSU..

Sometimes people think you need 800W just to run a Celeron with built-in graphics...

im looking for something to replace my ASUS EAX1600PRO
its a 512 but is a lousy card... check out the tests etc online for it and you will see how truly worthy of a binbag it really is :)

Get this.
Right now, playing Clear Sky @ 1680x1050 with dynamic lighting (not enhanced mind you but hey...) pretty much everything else on high......I have vision distance to 50% which looks the same to me and lighting distance about the same (as reccommended by Tweakguide) no AA and it is totally playable. Now, I do have a pretty nice system backing it up but damn........just sayin'.

Giddy as a school girl. :D

AND, I got the one with the less memory.

I'd like to know how TigerDirect justifies selling the same card on their Canadian web site for $71.99 after MIR[/url]
Taken a look at the exchange rate recently? Not that it's really responsible, Cdn prices of US based etailers uniformly suck ass.

Good card for the money, my brother has a Palit Sonic version, more memory and the memory is 1800 instead of 1600 but it's a very nice card.
