this guy is trying to sell this on craigslist in my area... so many things wrong with this.

im no water cooling expert but im pretty sure the pump needs to be on the bottom and there are supposed to be no bubbles.

check out these pics

heres a link to the ad http://richmond.craigslist.org/sys/866950021.html

should i buy it for $1500 :p

Frankenstein lives...and I love the trans cooler wire tied to the rad...

although yes, this is a pretty shitty loop... i dont know if it would be entirely that bad..

if he had good enough fans it could work quite well.

you say that the pump should be non the bottom, that only matters when filling the WC system up because it allows the pump to always have water in it (when being turned on) which you always want.

however, once the loop is full, pump placement doesnt matter because no part of the loop changes its hieght and thus, the overall gravitation affect of the water on the loop wont matter.

pretty shitty explaination i know, but it end up being that once the loop is full, if you could hypothetically put the pump in any part of the loop (besides stupid shit like pumping it into the res/t line) the cooling will be exactly the same.

that being said, if you look at how it is setup, it wouldnt be too hard to just used the pump when filling the loop, you can just tilt the case back then turn the pump on/off until water fills the entire loop.. sure its a little time consuming, but its possible. thus the pump placement doesnt matter.

you also said something about bubbles, well.. the bubbles are probably because he just filled it, im sure after 30 minutes of running there are no bubbles in that loop.

that being said.. that computer is ass ugly.

Yep, no points for implemention but It probably works ok. One of my favorite quotes from here a long time ago when someone was putting down water cooling and accusing a poster of just trying to be "cool" was the reply: " My computer does not look cool, it looks like a bunch of duct taped car parts laying on the floor".

to me, it just looks like an air conditioner with water tubes arround it. :p but i really like that radiator lo

I don't know how you'd plug anything into that computer - it looks like the rad covers all of the ports

Wow, the res ain't even mounted on and look at the secondary cd/dvd drive and the other 5.25" bay covers, he used a damn sharpie. Its not worth $1500, well the cpu is worth about $1K. Link to cpu.

Not to mention, isn't the radiator aluminum and his barbs are copper? Talk about mixed metals. ;)

so i wasn't the only one who noticed the alumimum heater core rad, i feel sorry for the poor sap who buys this and has the loop go to hell because the moron who built this computer, doesn't know what happens when copper and aluminum mix, on another note, what li-li case is that?

It it me or I see 2 rads but hes only using one?

wait.. nvm I see the he is using both.

I Don't think it is a Li-li case, i've never seen one like it aybe Velocity micro are re-fronting a fairly low end li-li case, and this guy bought one and added his own water cooling.

very poor cable management, but the case looks nice, i think it is a Lian Li, it has potential for much better cable organization. If I was this guy i would really clean up the wires before listing for sale as it does look like a an air conditioner as someone said above.

That is a Lian-li case, custom made for Velocity Micro...which is located in Richmond, Virginia. As for the modding he's done...meh.

It made me think again about RAD placement options. so far i aprove the frontal door placement of the Thermaltake LCSs and the massive steel side panel of the Titan Robelia, since both work well and do not hurt the eye like the terrible modding posted here.

Velocity Micro custom orders Lian-Li PC-60 cases with their logo on them along with a couple other minor changes. These cases were great 5 years ago but are pretty crappy compared to modern alternatives.

Hahaha. Thats so wrong. I saw the second drive lol

Just fabulous! o_o
Makes you wonder if this guy had some sort of bizarre desk designed to accommodate this monster.

He has an aftermarket radiator and a homebrew radiator setup mounted on each other for a single block system?? what?

I actually think thats kind of neat. Too bad he didn't bring the look of that rad into the case itself, made it more industrial looking or something.

Too bad it looks like the moron is using an aluminum radiator and copper radiator with my guess would be regular tap water. I see no hint of any anti-corrosion additives in the water, and judging by the way everything is put together I doubt he even knows enough to use distilled water. It is also a likely possibility that this dude has fried the pump at least a little bit during the initial setup and filling of the loop. I would have said it isn't too bad because the components themselves are pretty good, I just think the potential damage that has already been done to them really hurts it.

So... did anyone else notice the awesome heatpipe cooler he has on the Southbridge? That RAID array won't be crashing anytime soon, lol!

How can you see anti-corrosion additives in the water just by looking? He might have additives in the water, and he may also not be using tap water.

And thermaltake watercooling stuff is cack,go on xs forum and mention thermaltake and see what happens.

The spec list is pretty good, and the watercooling parts list is good,i doubt he is clever enough to use descent parts on his loop and be dumb enough to use tap water at the same time,if he was that dumb,it would be a thermaltake cooling setup.

He also has a nice heatpipe cooler on the nb too.

I would buy this. With that parts list its worth it,plus you get a descent water loop.It just needs the crappy ali radiator removing, leaving just the good one.and a bit of a tidy up.

Oh and in the pics, its not even running,so the bubbles in the tank mean nothing.

i said the air conditioning

Just thought I'd let you guys know about THIS BEAST going on sale
