LIAN LI PC-V350 !!!

Hey guys,

I havnt had time to read all the thread but was wondering if this case can accept a asus 8800 gts 512mb card easily?

Thanks for the input!!

I finally build my new system ;), here are some pics :p

Config:

-E6400 (I will by a E8400 or E8200 if i finally sold my power supply :rolleyes: (a Seasonic M12 700W for 110€ and nobody seems to want it :confused:
-2x1GB (do you think that its too risky to mount 4x1GB of crucial ballistix? ) I was thinking on selling the other 2x1GB kit, maybe they will get to hot inside the case, won't they?
-8800GT & Zalman VF1000 ;)
-Enermax Modu82+ 525W, what a great power supply, amazing how it works with its fan at only ~500rpm (idle)
-Seagate 500GB 7200.11 and LG 4163B (I think I need a new SATA DVDRW :( )

This weekend I will put 2 NEXUS 1000rpm instead of the ones which came with the case, and I will also change de 80mm one to another NEXUS 80mm ;) silent fan.

after 4 weeks i finally got my MB back from Asus.

hiding cables:

all cables are under the mb tray...

and that´s how it looks now:

@emax
nice setup. interesting idea with the fan in the optical drive bay...

Update v350A (II)

:)

@emax
very nice setup.

@HitMaker
i´d like to have your psu. :D

new pics with new video card. i think my sys is finished...

Tremeloes: That is pure art. I am in the process of an almost identical build, but i'll be using the 9800gx2 once koolance brings out a block for it.
One question, where did you get the black 8800gts?
-Ash

it´s a xfx 88gt. i bought it in germany a few weeks ago. was hard to get it. it´s the only standard cooler gt with black pcb i found. i think xfx replaced it with a non standard cooler model.

for a little inspiration with your build have a look in the sff gallery. ;)

and ... show us pics...:D

damn you guys, all the pics on this page have convinced me to take the plunge and upgrade my htpc using this case! all the parts should get in friday! :D

emax, what mobo are you using? i want the same TR north bridge heat sink, but not sure if i have enough space with my mini ninja, it semi-overlaps the stock heatsink of my p5e-vm

Couple quick questions:

1) How long is the bay for the 5.25" drives?
2) Is the Lian Li HDD expansion bay able to be taken apart (as in, the bezel and fan without the tray)? If so, what're the dimensions of just the bezel and fan, and can it be mounted on the opposite opening from the side that is being used?
3) Is there another way I can mount a fan on the opposite side from the side being implemented for drives and such?

4) I highly doubt this, but need to ask: Is there a way to reverse the placement of the power supply and HDD rack in the case? I don't see a way to do this, but it would be so damned nice to be able to have the PSU over the expansion bays rather than the CPU (I believe, anyway)

Hello!

Thanks to this thread everything is almost decided... except the cooler?
Box Lian-li PC-V350 (I was doubting between this one or a silverstone sugo)
MB: Asus P5E-VM HDMI
CPU: C2D 8400
Ram:
Mushkin White Extreme DDR2 PC2-6400 4GB 2x2GB 4-4-4-12 "These sholud be ok"
"or just 2GB" Mushkin High Performance PC2-6400 2GB 2x1GB 4-4-4-12

Which cooler would you recomend?
I was thinking on a Scythe Ninja-mini or a Thermalright SI-128 SE, any others?
Woluld you also recommend replacing the case fans with others?

Many thanks

I'd go with the Ninja-Mini. I've got it in my V350 with a Q6600 at 9x333 on stock volts and it's around 43-45C when watching a Blu-Ray.

How to take off front panel on lian li v350
Ok i just got my v350 nice lil case.But i'm having a hard time taking the front panel off.Removed the 4 corner screws but there seems to be one more right in the middle impossible for a screwdriver to reach.Seems like a design flaw to me.Any one with a v350 got any tips???

thanks for the help

Just for reference can anyone chime in with heatsinks that will fit and slide into this case? I think that would be a big help to many of us interested in this case!

I really like the looks of the case :D
If I didn't already have a v1000b I would build with it for sure :rolleyes:

I am considering change my Zalman 8700 for a Sycthe Ninja Mini because the zalman performs really bad with low rpms :eek: In fact, with my E6400 running at 3.2Ghz it can't handle it to well because the CPU under 100% load goes over 64º and now that's running at 2.66Ghz with 1.2v it goes over 52º at full load :rolleyes:. And I will be buying a E8200 next month so I hope it will be able to do 4Ghz :p, thats why I need to replace the Zalman for a better cooler.

How Difficult is to mount the Ninja Mini inside the case? I know is has to be mounted inside, am i right, no? :D

Yeah I too was wondering what cooler was best for this case. The Ninja mini is supposed to be pretty good but I saw that someone here swapped his out for the Thermalright SI-128SE. I prefer the 120mm fan of the 128 but is it a better cooler?

I've got the Ninja Mini in mine with a Q6600 running at 3GHz. Idles temps are mid 40C and load temps are mid to upper 50C. It does have to be mounted inside of the case but as long as you have the memory and add-in cards out, it's easy to do. After you mount it, you'll have enough room to slide the tray out a bit to screw in any add-in cards as well.

Thanks for the info, but my problem is gonna be my 9600GT which has to be mounted first and the room will be significantly reduced :( and again, I hate Sycthe's mounting system, its shacks :eek:, anyway I'll try :p

50º full load is very impressive :), what fan are you using and rpms?

Ninja Mini not enough .. can consider Noctua NH-C12P ...

DSC_0054.jpg

:eek:I didn't heard about that Noctua, it fits perfectly in :D, so Its better that zalman 8700 for sure no? :eek: do you need a low profile fan because of the space between it and the power supply ? (I think you used a lower profile fan, didn't you?)

Thats the Thermalright SI128 fit too? and which is better? according to xbitlabs the Thermalright one is the best one, no? but according to Bjorn3d Noctua is better :(

Noctua NH-C12P --> 59€
Thermalright SI128 --> 42€

Both for SURE are better than Zalman 8700? right? :)

Thanks for the info and nice setup, similar to mine, the sound card :( takes too much space but anyway its better than the realtek :eek:

very nice setup. :) looks really clean. only the optical drive needs a stealth mod...

Hey tremeloes, how did you mount up your stealth drive? I just got my case in and I'm having trouble figuring out a place to drill holes for mounting. Did you ever end up figuring out a way to mount it up without tape?
