Going from 2 to 4gb definitely makes a difference in Vista. But going from 4 to 8gb, the difference is probably minimal. I just feel better knowing I can be reckless with my memory now. :)

DigitalMP... You can make any type of dock icon you'd like, they don't necessarily have to be confined to four letters... that's mostly to keep them spaced evenly when they're on the dock. I use Photoshop to create .png icons... if I want .ico icons for use in Windows, I use convertico.com to convert them. You really only need three things to make a decent icon... you need a transparent background, a good size (I create mine in 512x512px for detail), and a touch of artistic skill. You can get more detailed of course, adding reflections and effects, etc. (which CLock3 just helped me with by the way :D)... here's an example of the icons I created... http://mrporter.deviantart.com/art/Blue-Reflect-Text-Icons-83460030
I've learned alot by asking around and reading online tutorials and such... I'm even working on a new icon set for Windows and docks, etc. I'm experimenting with gradients and transparency effect :)

Here's my desktop so far... I have not yet finished all the icons, obviously, but I will post when it's all set up...

I might've had them done by now, but I got sidetracked editing the custom text on my Rainmeter system tool... I didn't want it to say "Rainmeter" what can I say :D and I also have been making a custom icon set for someone else... I have about 7 more to go then I'm going to upload them.

Anyone know of a good place to get the PS3 wallpaper for windows (either video or image)? I know I have seen one before, but can't find it anymore.

Can anyone tell me the font name of the packaged 4 letter icons? I made my own a while back that i likea lot, and the font is similar, but I'd just like to know what it is exactly, just for the record, haha. Thanks.

Trageta... nice screen there. That's not a Winamp skin, it's actually a widget thingy for Rainmeter... http://customize.org/rainmeter/skins/44780
There's some other good Rainmeter Winamp controllers as well. I've been customizing alot of the Rainmeter widgets lately... I am going to work on a black version of the MKG widget when I get my icon package done.

CLock3... have you looked on dafont.com, they have a ton of good fonts... might have the one you're looking for there. Maybe one in this category? http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=501

Thanks TooBooKoo, I've been there before, but I wasn't sure if the font used was a basic Windows font or not. Some of those are pretty slick though on the link you gave me. Thanks bro.

Thanks TBK. Meh, I've been changing around my things a lot. If you look at all my posts on here... I used the AKG headphone bg, the Coffee one, Splash, Iron Man, and a few others. I'm mainly using my laptop now which has bitching resolution so its hard to find something I like haha. The gauges and what not take up so much space ;/

Hey, for all you xp guys out there. Is there any problem with custom themes when you install sp3? Am I going to have to repatch uxtheme?

It should still work just fine...

New setup. I'll post another shot in the other thread after I get my icons and other stuff changed to fit.

Yes, you do/will have to repatch or replace the uxtheme.dll for SP3, it's changed once again as it has with each previous service pack release. There's a patcher already floating around, and there's also a uxtheme.dll replacement. I'd say trust the patcher more than a "possible" tainted uxtheme.dll file directly.

Popped in rainmeters from TBK, The uhh... multimedia buttons are at the bottom right by the gauges, look closely~

Hey WiLLiSTER what winamp skin is that? It looks like a variation of Dynamic.

is there a transparent reflective icon generator online?

I know theres reflectiveicon.com but you have to have a background color.

hey Jay_oasis, how come you dont have vista installed, people in your country don't like it?:(:);)

Hey Willister, are you using RocketDock? If so, how do you go about changing the active program indicator arrow things like you did?

I could have one of the cleanest desktops here .

What program are people using to get that minimalist replacement for a taskbar? I downloaded the free version of Object Dock but it doesn't look anything like that white text UI.

You mean like in Brickster's shot, a couple posts above? That isn't the taskbar, it's just desktop icons.

However, lots of people here talk a lot about Rocket Dock. Might be interested in that.

Thanks for the tip, that Rocket Dock program looks interesting, if similar to Object Dock. Strangely though, Object Dock has no digital clocks, only analog ones.

So if those white text icons are just desktop icons, where did people get them from? Some other part of the Stardock package? Looks to be a specific program since they reflect the desktop color.
