how many people have gotten the actual "we've shipped your vista email?"

the only semi encouraging thing is that they said we should get it by the end of the month :\

I got an email the other day...

"Thank you for participating in the Windows Feedback Program!

I don't think it has anything to do with shipping it to me but that's the latest one I got from them. I did get one in March about how they will be compiling the list of correct addresses and then they will ship it out April 7th roughly and I should receive it before May.

I been wondering the same thing. I got the e-Mail saying any changes need to be made before April 2nd and we would receive it by May 1st. I been chomping at the bit for the last 2 weeks, wish it would hurry up and get here, but hey, its free so I dont have much to complain about.

Freebies are good. I'm just wondering when MS will have an offer to give away VS 2008.

still waiting for my copy of vista. got an email march 15 stating 4-6 weeks so i guess 2 more weeks

A single OEM CD in a mailing sleeve will most likely ship via USPS First Class. That would take, on average, 5 days to reach the recipient. Given that M$ stated the first week of May, I don't expect to see that final email 'till the last week of April. That's my 2 pennies.

That said... yeah, I'm anxious too. ;)

I got the same email MrHood22 got...which is the first email of any kind I've gotten from MS since I initially signed up for the WFP. I'm still seriously wondering if MS literally cut off everybody that signed up even a few minutes after their original registration end time (4pm EST on 12/14/07 or whatever) and we're now getting sucked into their new promotional thing...

if u were able to select a product u wanted then u made it in

It's just as possible that the WFP team got mobbed by people seeking out free stuff, I suppose. :) Kind of a weird no-news-is-good-news thing, but hey...

They did... the Heroes Happen Here events nationwide gave away free Visual Studio 2008 Standard, Server 2008, SQL Server (I think only a 180-day of that one though) and Vista Ultimate, full versions. I'm going to mine on Thursday, combine it with free Office from this promotion and I've got a full computer's worth of software for free :D.

Well. I got to select my product and even confirmed it with them afterwards. Four months later now, not a single e-mail, and they won't respond to mine.

what i got on 12 Mar 2008

There were none locally. I just want to "watch" a couple of videos and get a free copy. ;)

may have shipped already. IIRC the same thing kind of happened with PowerTogether. copy of vista just showed up one day in the mail. but who knows.

I will have to see if I can find the email but I am pretty sure that it said something to the sort of "All items will ship with 6-12 weeks of the finish of the program." So really I am expecting to see mine somewhere in the middle of the summer (probably June or July).

I don't remember that part. I do remember the part in my latest email (end of march) saying that they're double checking on mailing addresses and it will ship out early april (April 7th sticks in my head for some reason) so therefore we should get it late april/early may.

They better be doing shipments this week, and we better get emails by friday. Otherwise they aren't going to make the end of april deadline.

The Windows Server 2008 key that was given out during the HHH event is only good for 1 year. :( and the Vista Ultimate was 32 bit. A 64 bit DVD image could probably be downloaded and the provided key used.

I already used my Ultimate key from the Heroes Happen Here event on a 64-bit SP1 Vista disc, worked/activated perfectly :D. The Visual Studio 2008 Standard is a full version as well. The Server 2008 supposedly doesn't expire, but I don't think it's licensed after the year technically, unfortunately :(.

Microsoft historically batch ships these things from a third part shipper and everything I have received from them is shipped USPS. Don't be too disappointed if it doesn't show up by Saturday. It's free and will be shipped on their terms and time schedule.
