One sausage a day can significantly raise the risk of bowel cancer, one of the deadliest forms of the disease, experts have warned.

Eating 1.8oz (50g) of processed meat a day - the equivalent of one sausage or three rashers of bacon - raises the likelihood of the cancer by a fifth, research shows.

Please read more at the provided source.

Just a thought, this won't stop my eating habits though.

Tell that to Jimmy Dean! Its all lies to make us eat bacon!!

Everything causes cancer, except folding. but really everything causes cancer, so eat all the sausage and bacon you want.

Each time you eat sausage, compensate with "D"...

"raises the likelihood of the cancer by a fifth, "
A fifth of what?
Johnny Walker?

I am drinking to that...... in moderation of course, but still:)

Later I'm going to have a bacon taco.

While I'm sure we all knew processed pork wasn't good for you, I had no idea it was this bad.

BTW, exactly how much bacon is in a rasher?

I though this was pretty much common knowledge. I've known about the risks of eating sausage since the 70s. Same thing for certain cold cuts. Never stopped me before.

specifically, sausages contain a lot of nitrites, which seems to be a cancerigen substance.
