LiLi Reborn - Steath

is that last length of water tube sleeved with split tubing instead of mesh?

Very nice thread. I love before and afters. Nice job on the loop too:) Definitely subscribed.

I do believe you have a spelling error in your title Arcy... unless you like the name Steath!? ;)

I went to read this thread today and my immediate thought was "Arcy has lost his damn mind! It's /purple/! With /sparkles/!"

And then I looked more closely. And I read. And I calmed.

Come on... purple is the BEST colour ever, and coupled with the sparkles.... OMG! Instant LOVE!!! :D;)

Get out of my thread. I know who you are!

By the way, noob, you're required by [H] law to bring beer and supply pictures of your girlfriend(s). Do it, and no, I don't count.

You don't count as my gf? (so I can't just put up pictures of you in a dress... that's really sad cause I have sooooo many!!!) And I may be a noob, but I'm also a poor college student, so beer I cannot afford!!!! :p

The law is the law. [H] law, even moreso.

(waits for beer)

.folder, I like your work and attention to detail. You're making me want to go through my PC60 again...

A likely story.

Oh Yeah?

Update!

Well, I've had most of this done for awhile, but I've been really busy with a lot of stuff, so, alas, I haven't updated. But now I will, so yeah! It's a rather small update, as some final things I'm working on aren't at my current location... And I didn't take a lot of pics of what I DID do, but whatever.

First up, the front of the case with the MDVA installed.
CaseFront-1.jpg

It's a huge improvement over Mashie's original mounting system if you ask me... :)

Here it is, in action, from the side. This thing is really gorgeous, I'm so glad I've got one of the last ones!
MDVAsoft.jpg

The next actual mod that I accomplished, was to mount LED's and LED holders in the corners of my fan. This is them running at 20%, so they won't overwhelm the camera.
fanLights.jpg

They really cast a nice glow into the case, and coupled with the airholes in the front of the case, cast a nice white glow around it!

Here's a nice sunlit shot of the entire insides of the case. The deckshot if you will.
FullDeck.jpg

And finally a nice side shot of it. I've got 1 wire left to hide, see if you can spot it!
FullOut-1.jpg

So that almost concludes the actual modding. I'm still toying around with a clever way to cool my NB hsf, and potentially my RAM. I might make a partial "stealth" and load a really quiet 60mm fan in there, as some pictures alluded to above... But I'm not entirely sure if I want to hide my RAM... It's kinda purty, and it matches the waterblock plate (if the RAM is hidden, there'd be nothing left that's "stainless steel" ish...

I might just paint the holddown, and get some black heatspreaders for my RAM, but I'm not entirely sure yet... I'm also considering painting the PCI slot brackets, and I need to get the final one installed... And give the entire case a good blow out with my air compressor, whenever I can get it back to my shop.

U gotta either hide the red wireing coming off the pump, or the one next to the rads by the expansion slots, or the one on the front panal by the power switch?

And maybe add a cable for the dvd drive?

Yep, it's the one by the power switch ;). The pump lead needs to stay red, in-case I ever need to repair the wire again (I had a heck of a time knowing what was positive and negative last time I tried to repair it, ahah.

And I have no DVD drive. I use an external USB drive every 2 years when I actually use an optical media

I really want to sleeve my tubing every time I see yours, now... Gah. More money.

Also seriously considering a 'stealth' of my own, with integrated air channels if I stick with air cooling on my motherboard. Hoping to go full water, but finding blocks for the P7N Diamond is proving to be an even bigger issue than with the IN9-32X MAX...

I might sleeve my tubing next time I break my computer down, which should be soon, I think there's some gunk in the loop.

Do ittttttttttt!

wow, awesome wiring and nice rework of the mdva !
painting the pci brackets would make this great mod complete.

I've got a couple of night shots... However, my camera absolutely tanks when it comes to night shots... But, I can't do anything about that, so here they are!

First up, the entire side view, in it's blurry glory.
nightShot1.jpg

And the deckshot.

It's actually nice a dim level of light, just a tiny bit of accent lighting is all I wanted anyways...

I'm trying to source some goddamned MOSFET heatsinks for this board, so I can re-do the board cooling, but I can't find ANYTHING. I really dislike the Thermalright HR series mosfet blocks.

I'd love to get some stock aluminum heatsink bar, and cut it to size, I'd even anodize it if I had to, but ugh, I can't find anything!

From the "most helpful" newegg review :

Excellent board..!!

Pros: Booted right up out of the box, benchtested w/a stock Intel cooler. Board ran a e6750 2.66 easily at 3600mhz, also all the CPU multipliers (6-7-8) ran perfectly. Had 470fsb at 6 multiplier no problems. The board is well made, accessories are excellent and it comes w/a Creative X-Fi card. Has an external Cmos button and reset and power switches on the board..sweet.

Cons: None that I can thing of, only had the board for 3 days. oh yeah..wish I could give it a 6..:)

Other Thoughts: If you're going to watercool..you'll need a Northbridge cooler (Koolance GPU200) a Southbridge cooler (Enzoech heatsink/fan combo fits perfect), a Pci-e chip cooler (any low profile heatsink (Enzo fits if you mod by removing 2 legs and redrilling holes) and a mosfet cooler (Thermalright HR09 fits perfect after flipping holdown retainers over to reposition spring pins)

I'm doing it :D

Best worklog on [H] - inspirational.

Haha. I hardly believe that, but thanks for the comment :).

Yeah, I'm having one hell of a time tracking down some aluminum heatsink bars...

I want to make my own Mosfet Coolers, but I can't find anything that fits the bill

so beautifull
Those white leds down near the water pump really puts a nice contrasting touch to the ominous red. =)

So, what am I going to do with all those panels I removed? Paint them of course. Matte black! But, of course, I ran out of paint, as described earlier. So, it's off to Canadian tire. The best store on the planet... The only store where you can run around blindfolded, dropping random shit into your basket, and still be sure that what you grabbed will be totally badass. Oh, and it's probably on sale too. Sweet.

What paint and technique did you use?
I was thinking of getting mines powder coated, but shipping my case would be really bothersome...

Uhhhm. Just 5$ rattlecan spray with baking. I used a tremclad rust paint!

I wish I could get a good shot of the finish. I hate bragging, but there isn't a single drip or run anywhere :).

And thanks I love the red+white combo too :)

so no sanding.. nothing? sweet... I'm kind of afraid, remembering how the paint crusted/yellowed and flaked off on all the paint jobs done at my old school x_x.. horrible..
Heh, if you still have half a can left.. or double.. I'll paypal you double what you paid for it! =D

I was also looking at this... guide, but I like the matte finish of the primer, before they did the enamel and sanding..

You need some paint? Tremclad should be pretty easy to find. Rustoleum in it's absence.

The trick is baking it though... You could use a 99c can of paint, and royally screw up the application, and bake it hot ;). You'd never know :D

That MNPC tech guide is good for learning the technique... But I hate a glossy finish. Just don't apply a clearcoat, bake at a higher temperature, and don't polish.
