the dt770's also have excellent imaging and probably better for gaming then the 580's or 600's. I loved my 580's but I didn't really dig the build quality (600's maybe better?) and any quantity of bass would cause them to bottom at normal volumes. If you go to lans and do a lot of gaming.. you should definitely look at the 770's. They are built like tanks.

How is the Highs,mids and lows on the 770?

I just did a search for "Audio Technica ATH-PRO700 SV" on Amazon, and it was under one of the 'other retailers/sellers' section. I guess I got lucky because it isn't there anymore... I probably sold them out and got the last pair.

Lows are amazing. Highs are great. Mids are alright. Equalizer will fix it up in not time, though.

I'm on an X-Fi -> Corda Arietta Amp -> DT-770/80 Pro

Av710>either LDII++ or Pioneer VX-401>DT770 250

Eh, the LDII++ and my Sansa Express have a hard time pushing the 250s, but the receiver has no problems and can even bottom out the drivers if asked ^_^. I am a total basshead, I have HD485s, and the DT770s blow the HD485s bass out of the water.

Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 80ohm - On the go (iPod > CMOY). Bass was too strong, EQ on "treble boost" preset and its wonderful!

My headphones arrived.. finally..

Audio-Technica ATH-PRO700 - $80 on Amazon, found a steal.

Did you find a steal or did the seller find a steal? Is this straight from amazon or from a market-seller person?

http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/fake-ath-pro700-279983/

The gold plating on the plug gives it away, and do you have the Audio Technica writing on the headband?

I noticed the same thing. Gold plug and it doesn't appear to have the audio-technica lettering from what little we can see of the headband. :(

Alright.. I was sort of disappointed when they came because I noticed they weren't silver and they didn't have the logo on the headband. I want your guys' input before I send them back and contact Amazon about the seller. The build quality and sound quality really isn't what I was expecting to be honest. They do sound "okay".. that's about it. The leather feels like pleather and the plastic is cheap feeling.

Here is a link to a review. I am not going to try and sell you on this, but it has to be one of the Best Bang for the Bucks I have heard. It drives my Senns 650 easily

Did you purchase yours off of eBay, I have found on there ("new") and the seller seems to sell many of them? Just wondering because I cannot find it any where else and would like to make sure I am buying from the original maker and such or from a trusted source.

Ok.. I'm sending those Audio-Technica imitation headphones back that I purchased on Amazon. I got them from the seller "gwolf_territory".. I suggest everyone stay clear of him. I have a feeling he won't refund me the money though, so I'm taking it up with Amazon. I'm also giving Audio-Technica a call to tell them there's people on Amazon selling counterfeit items under their good name and trying to pass them off as legitimate.

sure are. the AT's have at least two models being faked. Head-Fi is on top of it.

I'd say when you contact him, don't come off as accusing at first. It IS possible that he was selling them not knowing himself that they were counterfeit. I've seen that happen before. If thats the case, he should gladly refund your money. If he knows they are counterfeit, then you could have a harder time with it.

Yeah I know. I'm being nice to him and I just shipped them back this morning. Hopefully I'll see a refund from him in a few days. If not, I'm going to have to escalate the situation and contact Amazon since they have a "A to Z" guarantee.

I stopped by Guitar Center (musician's friend) on my way home and picked up a new pair of headphones. I got the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro (80 ohm). They are so freaking comfortable and sound about 10x better than the imitation Audio Technica's lol. The around ear fittings are like a velvet type material. The noise canceling on these is also crazy. I was sitting at a railroad crossing in the car while a train was going by, and I couldn't even hear it.

Anyhow, this time I felt like going to a store and getting some nice headphones even if it meant paying a little more. On top of that for $20, I got a 2 year warranty that covers anything no questions asked, so they'll just change them right out if I have a problem with them.

Now to pick up a nice little pocket amp for a decent price...
