Tell me a coffee cup PC wouldn't be the coolest thing ever. I laughed a little when I first looked at the concept but the more I look, the more I really like the idea. I especially like the screensaver idea, it gives you something to do while you are sipping your morning cup o' java. Who knows? Maybe someday we'll see something like this.

Haha. I can see the first guy to ever own one of those twenty years from now will be 300LBS and driving what would be that time's equivalent to a 10 year old ford fiesta.

I think it's a great idea. Much more entertaining than the crap they print on the sides of the cups at starbucks. I say integrate computers into everything possible. why stop with just coffee cups? How about a cereal bowl that has a computer in it? That would be cool!!

Other ideas include (but are not limmited to: Desks, toaster ovens, couches, llamas, and undergarments.

How appropriate it would be if they were programmed with Java code

But.. if it used Java for the code, then it would be slow. Coffee is supposed to wake you up... no slow you down like mollasses in a Michigan January.

I could see this being made....

Then the makers would get sued because someone had a patent on "beverage based processing" :p

Yeah, right, all we need now is another product that streamlines our attraction to one of the most addictive substances known to man.

I've cut down to my 20oz a day and I'm still buzzed from the caffeine! w00t!

This is part of the same contest (http://www.nextgendesigncomp.com/finalists.aspx) that the necklace pc was that everyone hated. While this one was a lot better than the other cup entry (http://www.nextgendesigncomp.com/entrydetail.aspx?id=958), I still am not sure I really like it much.

One concern would be that the hot beverage inside would over heat the pc comments. Also there is the whole how do you wash it issue. I don't think it would be dishwasher safe. Its a neat idea, but I'm just not too sure how it would truely work out.

if you had a heavily over clocked cpu, it would keep your coffee hot for hours!

Why does it have to be coffee...can't someone put tea in there....or hot chocolate. :D

Would it catch on fire if the PC was overclocked and you had Irish Coffee in there :p

That looks awesome. Looks like a Vista wallpaper in the background. I wonder if those are Vista's sidebar widgets.

This is dumb:

I want to do my Sudoko *while* taking a swig, not instead of. You can't see the screen while drinking, making it useless as something to use while having your coffee.

See that newspaper sitting on the table? Why not replace that with a portable device? It's not like there aren't a dozen to choose from.

Honestly, these designers need to take some usability training.

Ever been on a New York subway during rush hour? The less you carry the better.

One cup for your coffee and the news. Surely you stop sipping your coffee from time to time..

I'm sure you could put any drink you want to in there. as long as the beverage is compatible with the o/s.

And with the way I like my Irish Coffee, I'm sure you would have to worry about fire safety. (I won't even use a cell phone within 50 ft of my Irish Coffee)

No, but I have been on the TTC during rush hour. The last thing I would want is for my fellow sardines to have full view of my wrap-around screen. Even if it is just the crossword.

Well, there is always the napkin entry into the contest http://www.nextgendesigncomp.com/entrydetail.aspx?id=863

haha that's a pretty good question actually.. how would one clean that cup?

I'm thinking you can disassemble it, like Starbuck's mug where you take the lid off to pull the decorative paper out.

Can you imagine the rash of wrecks on the highway when people start interacting with a vessel filled with scalding hot liquid? Ever glance at your phone just as someone taps their breaks right in front of you while you're doing 70 on the interstate? Great potential there!

Technology wise you could convert the heat from the coffee/hot chocolate into energy to charge the built it battery.

Apparently it has a detachable CPU bottom so you can pop it in the dishwasher. (Someone asked)

I really like the concept.........except for this eventual situation:
OOPS....I spilled my full cup of boiling hot coffee on my nads while trying to read email on my mug - do I sue the cup-maker or the coffee company?

Just sue McDonalds. I'm sure it's their fault somehow. If it wasn't for their fatty cheeseburgers and fries your fingers wouldn't be so fat that they made you drop your cup.
