Thanks for the pics! nice rig. If you're not using the middle sleds, I'd take them out for a tiny bit better airflow.

Thanks for saying you like the build everyone.

It has been three years between machines. My old main rig was a s754 with SLi MB. :)

Specs of old Rig.

MB: EPoX EP-8NPA SLi
CPU: AMD Athlon 64Bit 3700+ ClawHammer
GPU: eVGA 7900GTX 512MB
RAM: 2GB Corsair PC3200 [1GB+1GB]

My original plan was to sell my 7900GTX & buy the new at the time 8800GT because of the price/performance.
Then DDR2 memory prices started falling and before I knew it I was selling off my rig and doing a full build.

I have to admit, I drooled a little inside. Especially considering my current machine is actually worse than your old rig :D That looks like one heck of a power supply too.

I swear I'm going to find where you live and steal that thing while you sleep. Everytime I look at it, I get more and more jealous. It's just so damn clean and looks so good... Component poRn at it's finest!

Man that's sweet :) The Antec Performance One P182 is my current favorite case. How did you like working with the case? Any problems?

Exceptional cable management in that case. I wish I could say the same for my gf's rig. I'm just so damn lazy.

why'd you go for the xtrememusic over the xtreme gamer? ive heard nothing but bad reviews about the extreme music

Acutally, it's the XtremeAudio that has those bad reviews... and it's because it mainly uses software-based sound emulation.

Niiiice looking!

Ahh, only 3GHz on the quad? You can go higher then that ;)

EDIT: also, how much room to you have between the ultima 90 and that 120mm fan?. How much room not including the fan?

Working with the p182 was great. This is my first "quality" case and I plan on keeping it for a long time.
Sliding in the back panel was a bit of a challenge. You have to make sure the wires are sitting flush as
possible so the door will slide it nicely.

As for the 120mm fan.. I assume you mean the one above the Ultima-90? It looks a lot closer in the
pictures because of the angle the pics were taken, but there is a bit of space between them.
The Ultima-90 itself has a 92mm panaflo fan on it.

Looks great as I said in the other thread. BUT!! I do believe I see some Antec tricool fans! Swap those out for better airflow and much less noise, they are awful!

I agree, get some Yate Loon $5 fans (volt mod them if they're too loud).

I wish I had know how much they suck before I had it all together. :)
I agree that the fans are a bit loud, not jet engine loud, but it's a steady audible sound.

I plan on replacing them whenever I do my next upgrade. It will be either
my eVGA step-up to a new gfx card or my planned raid setup.

When I first looked at the fans, all three of them has a control that can be
switched from low, medium & high. I just assumed they were great fans
for having such a feature.

Do you guys think it's a good idea to plug in the new fans into the MB fan headers?
The current fans don't come with the 3pin setup, so I had to use the PS for the hook-up.

I plug most of my fans into my MB if I can. Aside from wire-management, its the best option because you can monitor / maybe adjust RPMs. I actually still have the tricools in mine as well, although their replacements are in the mail (damn fans are expensive when you don't buy Yates  )
