The man is an idiot, the sales success and interest of Sins of A Solar Empire (so far) blows his stupid little "theory" out of the water that PC gamers just want Sims games and WoW clones. Team Fortress 2 must be doing awesome on the PC for Valve to give it prefential treatment and not jump to the console side of things also.
Maybe if he made good games, and not shitty console ports they didn't even optimize for the PC (Gears of War) and games that are just completely lobotimized to begin with (UT 3) they wouldn't be in this predicament, now would they?
What's hilarious is Mark Rein just stated the PC was their "bread and butter" shortly before Gears and UT 3 came out... what a switch a few weeks makes. This just sounds like a case of sour grapes, where instead of fixing what went wrong, he's just going to cry and switch focus to the 360 / PS3 where they eat this shit up.
In case anyone can't get Kotaku at work, here is what he said:
I don't get what he's comparing Gears to that sold a million, but Gears has been out on 360 for what, almost two years now? Is he really comparing something like Gears PC or UT 3 to that? So I guess we'll still get Epic games on the PC, they will just be quick console ports for a cash in, and the days of Unreal Tournament being a PC franchise first and foremost end with UT 3.

I think people would rather make a game that sells 4.5 million copies than a million and "Gears" is at 4.5 million right now on the 360. I think the PC is just in disarray... what's driving the PC right now is 'Sims'-type games and 'WoW' and a lot of stuff that's in a web-based interface. You just click on it and play it. That's the direction PC is evolving into. So for me, the PC is kind of the secondary part of what we're doing. It's important for us, but right now making AAA games on consoles is where we're at.
